Library - 10/10

A bit sleepy after her late night phone call, Isabel wandered in with an extra large mocha in hand to start the day.

"No, the 7 Ways to Make Him Ache for You definitely was," he said, trying to keep a straight face.

"Ah," she snickered. "I haven't gotten to that one yet. What do you think? Is any of it effective?"

"The reach for his keys in his pocket thing definitely is," Cameron agreed. "The rest is a bit iffy. I think they needed to add a few things from the 5 Very Hot Things to Do with Ice article."

"Are you a speed reader?" Isabel asked, her face a bit red since she had read the article about ice. "You covered a lot of ground in the short time I was gone."

"Nah, just scanned the titles," he chuckled. "I might have skipped the fashion article completely."

"Well you're welcome to borrow the magazine so you can do more then scan the titles," she pointed out. "You never know, you could learn something for future reference. Veronica might appreciate it."

Cameron blushed and ducked his head. "I don't think we reached that point in the relationship yet," he replied, closing the mag before he actually became tempted to take her advice. Time to create a diversion.

"Is that what you use it for?" he asked. "I mean girls in general."

"I read it strictly for the fashion and beauty news," Isabel said with a perfectly straight face, although her cheeks did color a bit. "I don't know about the rest of the female population of the school."

"Sure, if you say so," Cameron said with the hint of a smile.

"I do," she said primly, before laughing out loud.

It was hard not to laugh as well. "Don't worry, I won't tell if you don't."

"It'll be our little secret," she grinned. "Give me your library card and I'll get you checked out."

"Yes, ma'am," he gave her a salute before pulling his card out of his wallet and handing it to her.

Isabel took the card and quickly checked the book out. "You sure you don't want the magazine as well?"

Cameron paused. Frowned. Then looked around the library again to make sure no one was around to notice. "Okay, but librarians better be like doctors."

"I won't say a word. Just bring it back next Tuesday and no will ever know," she promised. Smiling, she checked out the magazine.

Cameron was bouncing on his feet and still looking around, hoping no one would pick this moment to enter the library. As soon as Isabel was finished checking out, he stuffed it in his bag and clsoed it quickly.

"Thanks!"

"Anytime," Isabel laughed. "It's what we're here for."

Cameron smiled at her. "All in a day's work. I'll see you next week if I don't run into you sooner."

"I'm around, mostly. Although Greg and I were thinking of taking a short trip away this weekend," she said with a smile.

"Sounds like fun," he said, hugging his bag to him.

"It should be. Neither one of us grew up where there was actually a Fall. So we're planning on driving out to the Shenandoah Valley and camping for the weekend," Isabel explained happily. She grinned at how he held his bag. "You can put it down you know. We ask you to take care of the borrowed books but you don't have to get too crazy."

"I know. Just making sure no one accidently looks into it," he replied. "And that sounds like some nice quality time together."

"That could be tough to explain, yes," she agreed. "And it will be. It'll be nice to get away for awhile and have fun. We haven't left the island together since we went rafting back in August."

Cameron smilled. "Well, I don't think I need to tell you to have fun because it sounds like you will. Just don't do anything Cosmo wouldn't tell you to do," he teased.
