Bridge thinks. "Um, most of my favourite distraction-type books haven't been written yet. But- a bunch of people seem to like the Angelica Demesnes books," he offers.
"2021 for me," Bridge says. "So not quite as far as you. I was born last year, actually. But there's still something of a generation gap between me and most of the people here, when it comes to all the pop culture stuff."
"I'm not born until another few hundred years, which makes my head hurt but I find it best not to think about it," Naomi said, "the culture from where I come from is completely different to here,"
"It's a bit of an adjustment, isn't it?" Bridge says. "I've been here a year and I still find it weird that Earth doesn't have interstellar travel yet."
"I know," Naomi agreed, "the first interstellar flight that took place in my Earth was 2063, which resulted in first contact so it's weird not seeing star ships and shuttles flying around,"
"In my timeline, Earth- or at least, certain *parts* of Earth, I guess, has *known* about life on other planets since 1993, and the United States sent a colony ship out in 1999. Nobody else from this time's ever even *heard* of Terra Venture though." Bridge says with a frown. "Which means I think I'm from a really, really different alternate reality than most people."
"I haven't heard of Terra Venture," Naomi replied, "but then I haven't met anybody who's heard of Voyager, or the Delta Quadrant, or Ktarians or Starfleet, I think I'm the only person from my reality,"
