"Must be something in the air," Jack said as he saw what Izzy was reading. "I bought Cedric an Idiot's Guide to US History yesterday. Oh, and I brought you this," he placed a mocha with whip cream on the desk, "and this," and next to it appeared a blueberry muffin. "I thought you might be hungry."

[ooc: heading to work now, back on in a bit]

"You are truly a wonderful man," Isabel gleed, pouncing on the mocha. "I might have to ditch my plans to run away to Mexico with Cedric and go with you instead." She took a sip and sighed. "Why did you get that for Cedric?"

"I know," he said smugly, grinning at her reaction. "And Mexico awaits us, just say the word and we're gone." Jack jumped up to sit on the counter and leaned back on her hands. "Because the tome he found here looked like it would bore even Rory to death. The book I got him had cartoons."

"Oh now I'm going to have to make a decision between the two of you? Well I suppose a coin toss would be fair," Isabel chuckled. "Cartoons? I'm afraid. I hope he's not getting tested on that."

"Take us both," Jack offered. "Much simpler. And more fun." He patted her hand, kicked off his shoes, and pulled his legs up to sit cross-legged on the desk. "The book's not for class. Cedric said he wanted to learn more about the history of the US, seeing as he was going to be here for awhile. Are you enjoying your first day in the library?"

"Make yourself comfortable why don't you?" she asked, raising an eyebrow. "If I'm taking the both of you then I'm saying the hell with it and bringing Greg along to. Me and my harem, life would good." Sobering, Isabel leaned against the counter and rested her chin in her hand. "He still hasn't heard anything? I was a talking to Hermione a week or so ago, I was tempted to ask her how she keeps in contact."

"Want me to get off?" he asked. "I like being comfortable when I'm around you. And I did bring you a bribe." Jack smiled as he pointed at the mocha and muffin, but it faded and he picked a pen up off the desk and started twirling it between his fingers. "Nothing. Sam and I were tossing around the idea of planning a trip to England on Parents' Weekend. Just take him home and find out once and for all."

"If you don't mind. At least for the first day," Isabel said, squeezing his arm. "Unless you brought a bribe for my boss as well. She might still be around." She frowned, tapping her fingers against the counter. "That might not be a bad idea."

"Sorry, Izzy," he said, looking contrite. He jumped off the desk and slipped his shoes back on, leaning against it instead. "Yeah, Cedric wasn't so pleased, but if he hasn't heard by then I don't think there'll be a lot of other options."

"At this point I'm not sure if my folks are coming out or not. But if they don't? Count me in," she said seriously. "The more the merrier and all that. Or, if things are as bad as he believes, then I'll just be one more person to watch his back."

Jack looked at her seriously, weighing it up, then smiled. "Thank you, Isabel. Hopefully it won't come to that. He promised he'd talk to Hermione, and she might be able to help him. But if it does, I'm glad there'll be someone besides me and Sam there." He reached out and brushed his fingers through her hair. "But enough about that. How are you enjoying this? And how's Annie?"

"You might wind up with Greg to. He'll be coming to watch my back. Or man the first aid supplies. Although I hope it doesn't come to that." Isabel leaned against him and yawned. "Annie had me up at oh my god early this morning. That's why I'm so thrilled with the mocha. But she's doing good."

"I don't know if they can get hair gel in wizarding England. He'll have to bring enough to keep him going," he laughed. "But I figured where you went, he'd follow. I should point out," he said smugly. "That Puff is very quiet and is unlikley to be waking anybody up in the wee hours of the morning."

"I'll be sure to point that out to him," she nodded. "I wouldn't want him to go without. Puff?"

"Puff. Short for Hufflepuff," he explained. "It's what Cedric named pinky. It suits him, actually."

Isabel grinned, "Hufflepuff? Not Heffalump? Or Woozle?"

Jack snickered. "Woozle? Do I even want to know what a Woozle is? But Hufflepuff is Cedric's house, back at Hogwarts. They're loyal, stalwart, and true, which fits. I guess it was the first thing that came to mind when he saw him."

"It's the first thing that comes to mind when I think of Cedric," Isabel smiled. "But I like it. Wait here." Isabel walked away from the desk and disappeared into the fiction section, returning a minute later with a book (http://www.amazon.com/Complete-Tales-Winnie-Pooh/dp/0525457232/sr=8-2/qid=1158716553/ref=pd_bbs_2/104-7860127-1242367?ie=UTF8&s=books). "Here, it's a classic."

"Add sexy into the mix, and I'd agree with you," he called quietly after her. When she handed him the book he stared at it. "Winnie the Pooh? Okay. And this has Woozles in it?"

"Heffalumps, Woozles, and a Tigger to," Isabel grinned. "If you like it I'll even get the movie for you to watch."

"That sounds completely weird. I can't wait. Will you check it out for me? I have a library card somewhere." Jack set the book on the counter and dug out his card. "Aha! Here. And if it's good, we should definitely watch the movie. We could get a bunch, make a night of it."

"It's adorable and sweet," she said with a smile as she checked the book out. "But since it's a kiddie movie I'm not sure how big of a crowd we can get to watch it."

Jack flipped through the book, and nodded in understanding. "Kids movie. Okay. Maybe not the best choice for a movie night. But I'd still like to read it," he said with a smile. "Thanks, Izzy."

"Anytime," she promised. "I'll have to find a copy of The Velveteen Rabbit for you next."

"Between this, The Little Prince, and whatever else you come up with, I'm going to end up regressing to five years old." Jack grinned, not at all serious, and leaned across the counter. "Luckily I've got pirate ninja sex to read in between."
