Friday: Energy & Fitness Week 2

A note was left on the door of the classroom instructing his class to meet him in the gym in ten minutes dressed for a work out.

Yondaime was there waiting for them this time instead of being late. 'Cept he seemed to be arguing with a small red frog... that was actually arguing back. They both looked up at once as the students started to appear and the frog disappeared in a small puff of smoke leaving the blond looking rather annoyed as he waited for everyone to arrive. He put on a smile though and waited for everyone to show up before he started speaking.

"I'm glad to see everyone here again and that I didn't scare you off last week." He chuckled slightly at himself; it was kind of sad, but he was trying to not be annoyed at his amphibian visitor. "Today we'll be running tests, not fun I know, but I'll need to know all of your skill levels before I break you up into teams." Yondaime explained and turned to his TAs motioning for them to join him. "You two will be tested last since I'll need your help administering them." He smiled and ruffled Skif's hair before turning to the rest of the class.

"After I lead you through warm-ups, we'll go through the tests and yes you will be graded on these." He waited for the impending moan of protest regarding that, but they wouldn't really he just wanted them to have the incentive to perform to their best abilities.

"Sure, no problem." Skif played with one of the stopwatches, watching the numbers whirl by. Then stopped it suddenly and looked up at Yondaime. "...And don't ruffle my hair. It's annoying."

Edward looked up at the ropes, shrugged, and monkeyed up a rope easily. Climbing gutters quickly was a bit more challenging in his opinon anyway. He slid partially back down using only his right hand then dropped the rest of the way to the ground.

Fast Edward was not - came from dragging around two limbs made of steel. However he has a decent gait and almost four years experience with it so he makes decent time, nothing spectacular.

Dodging Edward was good at, he was used to things flying his way. Small gouts of fire, miscellaneous wrenches, the occasional hail of bullets... a few balls that WERE going to connect he blocked easily on his forearms, and had almost made it clear across the room when a red rubber ball smacked him in the back of the head.

"DAMMIT AL!"

Alphonse? Take this opportunity to cream his brother with rubber balls? Why, never.

He grinned innocently, waving around another ball. "Your fault you can't dodge."

Alphonse eyed the rope for a quick moment before starting his way up, going up with a fair amount of speed. Once he got to the top he tried to go back down without sliding too much, because ow, ropeburn wasn't cool.

S.T. Anders

Rope climbing? Easy. Anders had enough confidence in his upper body strength to make it up without trouble, so he grabbed the rope and started pulling himself up as quickly as possible. Which was, all things considered, a little bit faster than he'd thought he'd make it.

You had to be fast to make a goal-scoring break on a small triangular court (http://en.battlestarwiki.org/wiki/Image:Bscap3463pu.jpg) with up to eight people on it, so Anders had spent a lot of time working on sprints and short bursts of speed. He'd never make a record time in the 100-meter dash, since he didn't have a sprinter's build, but he made really good time.

Dodging? Not so much Anders's thing. He was used to intercepting passes, cutting in to snag them, that sort of thing. But it couldn't be that different from dodging opposing players . . . right? The balls were just a lot smaller. And possibly faster.

Yeah, okay, he could do this.

Anders took a deep breath and started to run. It wasn't too long before he realized that the balls didn't announce their approach with the distinctive sound of running footsteps.

Ow.
