Friday: Energy & Fitness Week 2

A note was left on the door of the classroom instructing his class to meet him in the gym in ten minutes dressed for a work out.

Yondaime was there waiting for them this time instead of being late. 'Cept he seemed to be arguing with a small red frog... that was actually arguing back. They both looked up at once as the students started to appear and the frog disappeared in a small puff of smoke leaving the blond looking rather annoyed as he waited for everyone to arrive. He put on a smile though and waited for everyone to show up before he started speaking.

"I'm glad to see everyone here again and that I didn't scare you off last week." He chuckled slightly at himself; it was kind of sad, but he was trying to not be annoyed at his amphibian visitor. "Today we'll be running tests, not fun I know, but I'll need to know all of your skill levels before I break you up into teams." Yondaime explained and turned to his TAs motioning for them to join him. "You two will be tested last since I'll need your help administering them." He smiled and ruffled Skif's hair before turning to the rest of the class.

"After I lead you through warm-ups, we'll go through the tests and yes you will be graded on these." He waited for the impending moan of protest regarding that, but they wouldn't really he just wanted them to have the incentive to perform to their best abilities.

Zuko nodded. This was simple. "If they fall off, they fail."

Edward looked up at the ropes, shrugged, and monkeyed up a rope easily. Climbing gutters quickly was a bit more challenging in his opinon anyway. He slid partially back down using only his right hand then dropped the rest of the way to the ground.

Alphonse eyed the rope for a quick moment before starting his way up, going up with a fair amount of speed. Once he got to the top he tried to go back down without sliding too much, because ow, ropeburn wasn't cool.

Rope climbing? Easy. Anders had enough confidence in his upper body strength to make it up without trouble, so he grabbed the rope and started pulling himself up as quickly as possible. Which was, all things considered, a little bit faster than he'd thought he'd make it.

Dean managed to get up to the rope pretty fast. He'd done the same exercise a hundred times before in gym, and he was used to it, even if he wasn't anything all that special.

This shouldn't be too hard and Cameron highly suspected it would be part of his PAE. He climbed up the rope at a steady pace and then went back down a little bit too enthusiastically. Good thing he had sweats on.

The arms of a swordsman used to a very large sword could pull a 98 pound body up a rope pretty well and pretty fast, although Sakurazaki's little hands did have a bit of difficulty getting around the thick ropes. She hung out at the top for a moment, before decending in an equally quick and practised manner.

Because, when one was a spy, it was important to be able to decend a rope quietly as much as it was to climb one.

Cally struggled to get up the rope, and made it about halfway before she lost her grip and fell to the mat.

"I'm okay, I'm okay," she said, after landing with a bit of a shriek.

Cally pulled hereself back to her feet. "Stupid rope," she said. "I guess I fail, frak."

Zuko would agree, but he wasn't sure if Yondaime would so he didn't say anything about it. "Try again."

Cally nodded. "Okay," she said. She stretched out for a second then tried again.

This time making it about two-thirds of the way before falling. Again with a shriek. "Frak, I'm okay, but... frak."

"You got higher," he pointed out and looked as if he was waiting for her to have another go. Or possibly he was just standing there.

"Yeah, but my arms are telling me I shoulda stuck with the first results. Ow," Cally winced.

"Very well," Zuko nodded.

"Yes sir," Cally said. "Arms are just gonna be sore, I think."

Togusa managed to get to the top, and got some minor rope burns on his hands sliding down.

As all the other students have finished, Zuko stepped up to the rope. It almost seemed too easy as he effortlessly climbed up the rope and back down. Well, he climbed down until it was safe enough to just jump to the ground.

Re: Test 1

[identity profile] sensitivejim.livejournal.com 2006-09-16 02:05 am (UTC)(link)
Jim might not have climbed the rope with quite as much ease as most of the class, but he didn't make a poor showing.

His father would have had something to say if he didn't do well in something like that.

Demyx took his time climbing up the rope, muttering under his breath as he did. It took him a while, but he did eventually get to the top.

Being an ex-thief had its advantages. Skif swarmed his way up the rope, and dropped back down easily. "That's it?"

Pip pulled his way up the rope and slid down fairly quickly.

"God, I remember my grandfather making me do that all the damn time when I was a kid," he commented.
