The class room was sparse just a plain desk, no posters on the walls or anything. Just the black board up in the front with the name of the class and instructions to sign in and be seated until the teacher returned and further instructions for the TA's to pass out the syllabus.

A few minutes passed.... then about fifteen minutes passed. Just about the time when people were probably thinking about leaving, Yondaime appeared in the doorway in a puff of smoke and walked in with a smile. "Sorry for being late," he said with no further explanation as to his lateness, moving to the front of the class and looking everyone over for a moment.

"Welcome to Energy and Fitness. I am your instructor, Yondaime. You may call me sensei, Yondaime, or any combination thereof if you want me to respond." He paused a moment, looking like he'd lost his train of thought. "So! Yes, this class, as the syllabus says, will cover quite a few things, but mostly how to enhance your body's natural energies to be able to do some amazing things." A grin spread on the blond's face. "Like so," he said as he held a hand up to his face and was suddenly at the back of the classroom behind everyone.

"Granted, that's something a little higher level than what I'll be teaching here, but I'm sure you get the idea." He shrugged and returned to the front of the classroom the normal way; by walking. "This is going to be an action orientated class, so we will be outdoors most of the time, though I'm still not sure where..." Yondaime said thoughtfully, tapping his chin as he trailed off in thought. "But I'll let you know where we're going to be every week." He shrugged.

"Today's class is going to be very simple; we're only introducing ourselves so we all get to know each other, and I'll answer any questions you have about the syllabus. Please go easy on me though. It's been a really long time since I taught this many students." He laughed nervously.

Zuko frowned, studying the kid closely and noticing the small differences. "Are you related?"

Alphonse shook his head. "Ah, no. I've never met him before until recently."

"We share quarters," Zuko informed Alphonse.

"Oh! I wasn't aware of that," Alphonse said. "Pleased to meet you then, um..." he trailed off, unsure of his name.

"Zuko."

"Zuko," he corrected himself. "And you can just call me Al, if you're wondering. Everyone else does."

"People have long names around here," Zuko informed Al. Mostly because he hadn't figured out the surname thing yet.

Alphonse blinked. "We do? Well... mine's not really that long, but I guess for some people 'Al' is just quicker to say than 'Alphonse'."

"One of the theachers is named Lorelaigilmoredanes," Zuko said as if that explained everything.

"Um... Are you sure that's her entire last name? That sounds a little, er, too difficult."

"It's her entire name," Zuko nodded.

Alphonse looked at him oddly until he caught on. "Ah, you do know about first and last names, don't you?"

Zuko pretty much returned the odd look. "First and last?"

"Yeah," he nodded. "'Alphonse' is my first name, and 'Elric' is my last name. It's kind of like having two names; your first one is what your parents decide to name you and your last runs through the family."

"Everyone in one family has the same name?" Zuko checked to see if he had understood Alphonse's meaning.

"Well, last name, at least. Like my brother over there-" he pointed in Edward's direction. "-has the last name Elric, too, but his first name is Edward."

"I see," he said, thinking that this world couldn't even get names right.

Alphonse shrugged. "Most people usually reffer to eachother with their first, but others prefer their last. Going by last names is more polite too, sometimes. It's simple once you get the hang of it."

"I suppose," Zuko supplied, showing off his great use for words.

"Anyway, you might want to figure out which parts of Lorelaigil... whatever the rest is, is her first and last and just stick to one of those. It'll be a lot easier that way."

Zuko sighed and nodded. "I'll find out."

"Alright, good! Hopefully that's cleared up some stuff for you."
