Study Hall - Monday, September 19th

Welcome to the study hall for Monday.

I spent yesterday in my tower room with a bottle of Captain Morgan and a carton of cigarettes and I haven't held a gun in twenty-four hours. Needless to say, I am not in the best of fuckin' moods, and the first student to try anything is getting detention. Hell, the first teacher to try anything with me may get detention.

*glares at students across the study hall teacher's desk, props her booted feet on the corner of the desk, and flashes a dirty look to everybody who walks past*

Your announcements for today:

-- As some of you who didn't already know may have found out this weekend, we do have werewolves on campus. The curfew is there for a reason, people. And on the nights of the full moon, you WILL be in your dorm rooms by the time the moon rises. No exceptions.

-- For anyone who may have missed it, homecoming's coming up soon. Also, fandomhitunes has arrived.

-- The door of locker 327 is stuck open and won't fucking shut. There's your warning.

-- The cafeteria will be serving any meal you ask for today on request, but please keep in mind that the cafeteria workers think someone poured a potion or something into one of the vats, and since they were pretty sure it wasn't hazardous, they went and started serving anyway. I really have to fire those fucking bastards sooner or later.

Jesus, I need a gun. *squirms*

Maybe if I just hold a water pistol, it'll take the edge off ...

He manfully manages not to sporfle out loud, and writes, expression entirely serious: Yes: many an expedition were ruined by the incorrect shoelaces and wrong color of hats.

Now I have to ask a stupid question: I've been wracking my brain and I can't think of what a yearbook is. I mean, it's just an account of the year, isn't it? Or is it another of those Muggle things that sounds obvious but isn't?

A yearbook is as you guessed - a book about the school year. It's mostly pictures taken throughout the year, and it includes a portrait of each student and all the staff. It's a lot of work to put together, which is why I'm trying to get people to join...Oh, and at the end of the year, you get your friends to write things in it. It's sort of a souviener of your school days.

Rory decides to go old-school, and folds the paper into an airplane and sends it whizzing...right past Remus's head. "Oops," she murmurs.

Remus turns and commands, "Accio note," in his quietest voice. It flies back to him and he catches it, glancing around in the hopes that no one noticed. He smiles at Rory like 'sorry, habit,' and opens the note.

How very cunning! Functional clothing is the best kind.

The yearbook sounds like fun, really. And I expect the souviener aspect is the main draw--something to help you remember. Very nice.
