Study Hall - Monday, September 19th

Welcome to the study hall for Monday.

I spent yesterday in my tower room with a bottle of Captain Morgan and a carton of cigarettes and I haven't held a gun in twenty-four hours. Needless to say, I am not in the best of fuckin' moods, and the first student to try anything is getting detention. Hell, the first teacher to try anything with me may get detention.

*glares at students across the study hall teacher's desk, props her booted feet on the corner of the desk, and flashes a dirty look to everybody who walks past*

Your announcements for today:

-- As some of you who didn't already know may have found out this weekend, we do have werewolves on campus. The curfew is there for a reason, people. And on the nights of the full moon, you WILL be in your dorm rooms by the time the moon rises. No exceptions.

-- For anyone who may have missed it, homecoming's coming up soon. Also, fandomhitunes has arrived.

-- The door of locker 327 is stuck open and won't fucking shut. There's your warning.

-- The cafeteria will be serving any meal you ask for today on request, but please keep in mind that the cafeteria workers think someone poured a potion or something into one of the vats, and since they were pretty sure it wasn't hazardous, they went and started serving anyway. I really have to fire those fucking bastards sooner or later.

Jesus, I need a gun. *squirms*

Maybe if I just hold a water pistol, it'll take the edge off ...

"Meet your running mate." Parker gestures to Weir. "Elizabeth Weir, Lisa Cuddy. Vice President, President."

She leans forward. "A united front for two candidates cuts the competition in those categories, and also provides a larger base for voting."

"Weir doesn't want the responsibility of Pres, and you do, so that works out."

"Max Fischer is reportedly bowing out of the race... so your real competitors are members of the Junior OverAchievers club."

"I've met Liz before. I'm glad she has decided to run with us, and I am glad we have a ticket put together - I completely agree that it is the best way to move forward.

Parker narrows her eyes. "Certain information Came into my possession (http://www.livejournal.com/community/fandomhigh/49819.html?thread=2109339#t2109339) a while ago. I'm trying to figure out when the best time to leak it or make it public is, but either way, you two are out of that aspect. It's going to come from another source.

My take on them? Conquistadors in search of a continent. With any luck, they'll get lost before they find the New World."

"Pretty damn sure. I'm awaiting more substantive confirimation than an internet website, because the last thing we need is a smear campaign that turns into a sneer campaign. I have people working on it, though," Parker said, smiling grimly.

"Hey, I've talked to the guy too; he came across as a little smarmy, but reasonable. I don't want to make unfounded accusations, but it explains one hell of a lot about the rumors going around if it's true."

Parker's eyes narrow. "And *I'm* the only one allowed to pick on Broots. No way I'm letting that kind of element run the school."

"Will do." Parker scribbles some more. "What kind of changes *do* you want to make? Or are we running a 'Fandom High is as weird as it needs to be' campaign? Keep the school doing freaky business as usual?"

We can't isolate the more "unusual" members of the population, in fact they may be an untapped base. Logistical issues, like food, curfew - those matter to everyone, I'd say go with those and promote the individual rights of students without pissing off the faculty.

"Fair enough. If Angelus wants to promote a campaign against werewolves-- and I wouldn't put it past him, I *read* his last JA memo-- then he's going to have to go there first. Same for the magic-users, mutants, aliens, and dead people." Parker frowns. "I wonder if the squid gets a vote?"

My friend in the clinic lives with Lilly Kane - she runs Homecoming and is dead. I could swing her over to our side, and her housemates and friends, and the Homecoming committee. But that poses a problem, because the guy I was discussing earlier that might come after me? I've heard he and Kane used to date. We align with her and he might be more willing to come after me, especially if he is JA like I suspect.

As for the squid, who knows? I wouldn't be surprised.

"That would be good. But again, we don't want to make it look like a clique if we can help it. Just two separate campaigns that happen to be friendly to each other, that's all.

Who did Kane used to date? Christ, I'm going to have to get Broots to make me a Gantt chart...."

Logan Echolls. And from what I've heard, that blew up in her face when she got herself killed fucking his dad. I don't know if they have run into each other yet, but it will be hairy when it goes down, I guarantee. He's got friends too.

"Great, someone else I pissed off... well, I know his *current* girlfriend, and maybe between the two, we can balance it out. I know he's well-known among the partiers, but I have no idea what kind of influence he has on the other students. We'll deal with it if it comes up."
