Festivus in July, Fandom High front lawn, Friday afternoon

Sometime during morning workshops, when no one was paying nearly enough attention except those concerned, the Fandom High schoolgrounds had filled with snow.

For the record, "those concerned" meant Rory Gilmore and several dozen snow cone distributors from the mainland. But who wants to ruin the illusion? Students who were curious might assume that it was simply a Festivus in July miracle, or some such.

In the middle of the lawn stood a bare, aluminum pole. Festivus tradition, you know.

"Hut of platonic love!" John shouts. "No igloo!"

"Okay," Cameron resisted the urge to poke the blanket out of fear of making the thing crash. "Does that mean Aeryn can't visit you in there?"

"The hut of love takes all visitors," John says wisely. "Calling it the Hut of Romantic Love might've made people run away."

"Depends on who's in it," Cameron grinned. "Isn't it too cold in there?"

"Nah," John says and waves a hand at Cam. "You can come in. Platonic love. Means no kissing."

"I never thought I'd meet the day when I'd say this, but that's good because I think I had enough kissing to last me a month," Cameron shook his head and entered the hut of platonic love. "Kinda cozy."

"Yep! Molly's my co caretaker," John says. "There's gonna be a candy sofa!"

"What sort of candy?" Cameron asked curiously. "You don't want anything that melts or is too hard."

"Full sized candy bars," John says proudly. "We'll get Bridge to rig it so it's all good."

"Cool," Cameron grinned. "Just make sure you don't accidently eat the couch while you're sitting on it?"

"Ah, it's not going to made of candy. When someone sits down, it's going to pop out a candy bar."

That made more sense. "Okay, now I get it. That's probably more practical."

"Yeah," John says and nods. "Because eating the couch might just be too much."

"Bad indigestion," Cameron nodded in agreement.

"And I'd get pudgy," John says and dares Cam to add 'ier' on the end.

It's on the tip of his tongue, really, but he swallows it quickly. "That would be bad," he says instead, trying not to laugh.

"I know what you're thinking, fungus face."

"Do I have to point out that we've got the same face?" Cameron asked.

"Prettier!" John sing songs and points to his face.

"Studlier," Cameron flexed his arms.

"No, you mean uglier," John corrects.

Cameron went for the very mature response of, "I know you are, but what am I?"

John goes for the equally mature response of flicking his ear.

"Dork," Cameron rolled his eyes and tried to pinch John's cheek.

"Hey hey hey, only my nana can do that!"
