Angela opened the library, started a pot of coffee, and put her head down on the desk.

She wasn't napping, just resting her eyes. She'd get to work annnnnny second now.

Honest.

Of course not.

"How long can you live, total?" Angela asked. "And is it weird for you to know that there's a different you from your future who's already been here? I mean, doesn't that mean you-" She groped for a word "-aren't here anymore, someday?"

"Long depends on how careful you are. I lived a good five hundred years before my first regeneration, and that's when I died of old age," he said. He chuckled. "Been through about eight more lives since then, in the same amount of time."

A thousand years. That was almost longer than Angela could imagine. "That's incredible," she said.

And then, not wanting to seem too nosy and because her player is about to run off to work anyhow she waved toward the books again. "I'll have to try to take a class with you sometime. Let me know if you need help with anything else, okay?"

The Doctor nodded. "Absolutely. You have a fantastic day, Angela Chase."

With a smile and a nod, the Doctor wandered over to the books to go about his research.
