Fandom High Library, Thursday Morning

Angela opened the library, started a pot of coffee, and put her head down on the desk.

She wasn't napping, just resting her eyes. She'd get to work annnnnny second now.

Honest.

[OOC: Summer=no OCD. SP from me after 1:30 EST. Etc.]

The Doctor wandered into the library on a mission. He walked straight up to the front desk and smiled.

If that didn't get the attention he needed, he'd resort to throat clearing.

The Doctor raised a hand in a little wave. "Hello!" He smiled again. "Where might I find some information on Milo Rambaldi?"

[identity profile] nine-and-ears.livejournal.com 2006-07-20 01:59 pm (UTC)(link)
"Milo, as in Milo and Otis, if you're familiar. Rambaldi, Ram. Bald. Single little i, thank you."

[ooc: He's just looking for more information on the Prophecy and general history of the fellow. Nadia's totally cool with this. And... now I run off to work, so it'll be a bit of SP from now on.]

The Doctor nodded and smiled. "Thank you very much, Miss..." He scratched his chin for a second. "Sorry, I don't think I got your name."

"What gave it away?" The Doctor pointed at his right ear. "It's the ears, isn't it? They just shout 'I can hear a note being written all the way in the back of the room', don't they?"

"The Doctor," he said, offering a handshake. "Nice to meet you, Angela Chase."

"Did he?" The Doctor raised an eyebrow. "I was under the impression that he was involved with a Professor Cregg. He was me, by the way. Only me from the future. And definitely possibly from an alternate universe."

The Doctor, despite his morbid curiosity, didn't press the matter of the old Doctor's relationship dynamics. He could tell Angela was a bit embarassed.

"It's a bit complicated," he said. "Long story short, my race has the ability to regenerate their bodies in the case of fatal occurences. You come out looking a bit different. And acting a bit different, as well, but you're still the same person."

"Though that adds a bit of spiritual connotation that isn't quite accurate, it's a good way to describe it, yes," the Doctor said. "We only get to do it a limited number of times, of course. Nobody lives forever, after all."

[identity profile] nine-and-ears.livejournal.com 2006-07-20 04:32 pm (UTC)(link)
"Long depends on how careful you are. I lived a good five hundred years before my first regeneration, and that's when I died of old age," he said. He chuckled. "Been through about eight more lives since then, in the same amount of time."

The Doctor nodded. "Absolutely. You have a fantastic day, Angela Chase."

With a smile and a nod, the Doctor wandered over to the books to go about his research.
