FH Library, 7/13

[chasingangela]

Angela was still thrilled to be back at school -- including back at work. She did a quick tour of the library, humming a little, pleased to be certain that nothing had been blown up. Then she went to organize the magazines, picked out the most recent Vanity Fair, and settled behind the desk.

It was a little odd not to have even a nominal boss, but Angela figured she could deal.

Marty smiled and spread out a blanket on the floor. "So this award? Is there a ceremony? A commerative plaque?"

"All of the above," Angela said solemenly. "If you got the right food, anyhow. You lose if you got stuff I don't like."

"Oh the pressure's on now!" Marty said dramatically. "Did I mention I got all these recipes from Marcella?"

Angela went a little green, involuntarily. "You wouldn't dare."

"Kidding. It's all from J'GOB. I got bread, coldcuts and pasta salad," Marty said opening up the small cooler. "Plus there's chocolate mousse for dessert."

"Perfect for this weather," Angela said, diving into the food and lazily assembling a roast beef sandwich. "So what else have you been up to?"

"Nothing. It's been my day off from workshops so I just hung out in the cabin and relaxed all day," Marty said as he put together ham sandwich. "How does it feel to be back in the library?"

"A little strange, but not un-good," Angela said. "So we lost another librarian. I think Special Collections is demanding them as sacrifices, or something. They decided Rory and I are in charge until they can hire somebody new."

"Special Collections eats librarians? That explains a lot," Marty said not quite amazed at the revelation. "So does that mean you need to be more careful at the library until they find a replacement?"

"Nah, it doesn't want me," Angela said, spearing a cherry tomato from the pasta salad. "It likes old people, or something."

"Well that's a relief," Marty said taking a bite of his sandwich. "Are you done with all your workshops for the week?"

"Yep," Angela said, eating another herry tomato. "Do you have anything tomorrow? Rory was going to take me to meet her baby brother."

"I'm free," Marty said with a grin. "I'd love to see Rory's baby brother. What did they name it?"

"Bucky," Anngela said. "Which is short for William Starbucks Gilmore-Danes. He had to be related to Rory, with a name like that."

Marty pouted. "I still think she should have named him 'Barista'."

"Boy," Angela reminded him. "If it was a girl she might have."
