Veronica had ~~handwavy~~ sent an email and hung some signs so students would know to meet in the Journalism classroom. She had a spread of bagels and muffins from J,GOB along with plenty of coffee and tea.

"Welcome to Photography," she said once everyone had arrived. "Help yourself to coffee and baked goods," she added as she began passing out a Basics of Photography handout along with a syllabus.

"For those of you that don't know me, I'm Veronica Mars. You can call me Veronica. I'm a recent graduate of Fandom High, but I've been an amateur photographer for a long time. So you know, the rest of our workshops could get a little messy with developing photos, so please don't wear good clothes."

She smiled. "Today's going to be an easy day. We're going to go over the syllabus and the basics of photography. I'd like to start by having you all introduce yourselves and tell me why you signed up for this workshop. Additionally, if you have your own non-digital camera that you'd like to use, please let me make sure it's appropriate. If you don't have a camera, you can borrow one from the school."

"I'm Marty Blank and I took this workshop because it's a good chance to hang out with my friends. And you know. Learn stuff."

"I'm Blair and I'm taking this class because I thought it would be fun."

Angela waved to Blair. "Hey! Fought any injustices while I was gone?"

"Angela!" Blair grinned and waved back. "Actually we're in the midst of a battle against the forces of tyranny and non-diverse holidays right now. Willow and I are meeting with the prinicipal later today."

"Well that sucks," Angela said. "I mean, that there's tyranny. Not that you're talking to Ms. Washburn. What's up?"

"They scheduled a Christmas in July event for the whole school!" Blair fumed. "It's organized religion that's excluding all the students who don't celebrate that particular holiday. And in this school, you'd think they would know better than to assume everyone was a card-carrying americanized christian."

Angela boggled. "Yeah, the school has issues like that," she said, annoyed. "They did a Christmas pageant in December, too, with a whole nativity scene. It's weird, you wouldn't think the administration would be all into religion like that."

She bit her lip. "You're Jewish, right? I mean, I don't want to presume anything."

"Yeah, I'm Jewish, although I don't really practice." Blair shook his head. "You can come with us to talk to the principal if you want! Hopefully they'll listen better now than during the gremlin fiasco."

"I would, but I need to run some ~~handwavey~~ errands," Angela said sympathetically ~~because her player needs to leave for work in just over an hour~~. "But seriously. They could at least call it 'Winter in July.'"

"Ooh, I'll suggest that title." Blair bounced. "I'll let you know how it goes, okay?"

"Yeah, please do. You would think they would have learned something from the pageant," she sighed.

"I'm Cally, and I totally signed up 'cause the teacher's cute," she said with a chuckle. "I've never done the photgraphy thing, so I figure I might as well give it a shot, erm, no pun intended."

"I'm Angela, and I'm in here because I think photography is a really interesting art form and I want to know more about it."

"I'm Archie Kennedy, and I did not in any way sign up for this workshop because I thought the instructor would go easy on me."

"I'm Janet Fraiser, and I took the workshop because I thought it looked fun. And, yes, fine, because it looked easy and I swore I was going to be less academically-focused during the summer."

"I'm Kaylee and I'm here because it seems like fun and I'd like to learn more about it."

"I'm Broots and I somehow figured this class was going to use digital cameras. So yeah. But photography is cool anyway and um. Yeah."

"I'm Parker, and I'm constantly taking pictures anyway-- I figured I might as well try to improve my technique, so they're good ones."

"I'm Rory, and I want to be a great journalist. Sometimes great journalists can't take their photographers everywhere," Rory said with a smile.

"I'm Stark. And I thought this workshop sounded interesting."

"I'm Alphonse, and I signed up because I thought I should try something different that sounded interesting."

"I'm Dean Winchester and I took this workshop because I figured photography might come in handy sometimes. The camera can pick up some things the naked eye can't."
