As the students file in they'll see that the Danger shop appears to look like a normal classroom. Suddenly from the back of the room a sharp piercing whistle is heard as Dr. Cox marches into the room with a stuffed dug under his arm.

"SEATS! NOW!" He bellows and glares at everyone in the classroom until they are sitting at a desk.

"So you want to learn how to win friends and impress people. Do you realize how pa-ha-thetic you people are? I mean for the love of GOD people! Do you realize what this leads to? It leads you to becoming something like THIS!"

Cox flips a switch and in the Danger Shop a hologram appears of a middle aged man wearing a lab coat with red horns and a pointed tail. The hologram appears to be limited because it only says: "Who has two thumbs and doesn't give a crap?"

Then hologram points at himself with its thumbs. "Bob Kelso. That'd be me."

The hologram continues to repeat itself throughout class.

"This! This is what you'll become! DO YOU NOT SEE THE DANGER!! MY GOD NEWBIES! THE HORROR!! THE HORROR!!" Dr. Cox ranted.

He then took a deep breath and glared at the students sitting at their desks. "Let's get one thing straight people. Friends? Who needs them. Impressing people? Bah! What I am about to show you are the tools of the enemy. You will learn them. You will learn to fight them. I will give you the tools to fight them.

Cox points to seven random people an then points to Rowdy's mouth. "I want each of you to write down something that you want including your name. Put it Old Yeller's mouth here and the person who gets the object of your desire? You will try to schmooze it from them. The rest of you? You will fight to the fiber of your being to keep it from them. Then you will flip sides and the schmoozer will become the schmoozee."

"Hey," Greg said. "I, um, think I got your thingy."

[Cox said to pair Greg and Elizabeth as we're both partner-less. :)]

"Oh, hey, Greg," Elizabeth said, smiling. "Do you want to go first, or shall I?"

[[Cool :)]]

"You can go first," Greg said. "Since you're the lady and all."

Re: Group Seven: Shiro - Elizabeth Weir

[identity profile] notcalledlizzie.livejournal.com 2006-07-12 03:17 am (UTC)(link)
Elizabeth grinned. "How very gentlemanly of you," she said. "Okay, so this is apparently the tightest presidential race in history and rests on you giving me your vote instead of to that other guy."

Re: Group Seven: Shiro - Elizabeth Weir

[identity profile] like-a-sponge.livejournal.com 2006-07-12 03:24 am (UTC)(link)
"And why should I do that?" Greg asked, arching a brow.

Re: Group Seven: Shiro - Elizabeth Weir

[identity profile] notcalledlizzie.livejournal.com 2006-07-12 03:28 am (UTC)(link)
"As president I promise to faithfully uphold the constitution. I will not engage in illegal and unlawful wars, and will not try and police the world, causing unnecessary deaths and suffering to the American people," began Elizabeth. "I will increase funding for schools to ensure that every child gets the chance at a world-class education which they deserve. Science will be funded not just on the merits of what we believe will come from the work, but also there will be science for science's sake; because sometimes, that's where the most interesting results can be found."

And he was sold on the last bit. "Okay, any particular science that would get the concentration of funding?" he asked, smiling a little.

"Well, Janet would kill me if I didn't do genetics and biochemistry," said Elizabeth, grinning. "So probably those at least. Also, I think it's worth funding money into diseases, both infectious and non."

Re: Group Seven: Shiro - Elizabeth Weir

[identity profile] like-a-sponge.livejournal.com 2006-07-12 03:48 am (UTC)(link)
"Biochemistry and genetics?" Greg asked, looking very interested. "And what would be the explanation for why there's funding going to those particular groups? Any projects in mind?"

"I'm thinking my high school girlfriend's a doctor now won't go over too well," laughed Elizabeth, winking at Greg. "A belief that the work will be able to help humanity. As for specifics, I expect I'll be deferring that to the Office of the Science & Technology Adviser in the State Department."

Re: Group Seven: Shiro - Elizabeth Weir

[identity profile] like-a-sponge.livejournal.com 2006-07-12 03:56 am (UTC)(link)
Greg nodded. "Okay, I'll vote for you for president, but only if you can assure me that your promises will be kept."

Re: Group Seven: Shiro - Elizabeth Weir

[identity profile] notcalledlizzie.livejournal.com 2006-07-12 03:58 am (UTC)(link)
Elizabeth nodded. "Absolutely," she said. "The problem with our current politicans is a contining cycle of lies which I would like to break."

Re: Group Seven: Shiro - Elizabeth Weir

[identity profile] like-a-sponge.livejournal.com 2006-07-12 04:00 am (UTC)(link)
"But don't you think that a certain degree of lying is important to keep the public from panicking?" Greg asked, crossing his arms.

Re: Group Seven: Shiro - Elizabeth Weir

[identity profile] notcalledlizzie.livejournal.com 2006-07-12 04:02 am (UTC)(link)
"That implies a lack of faith in your population," said Elizabeth. "The public should have the right to be informed. Obviously, this doesn't include, say, military classifications and issues pertaining to national security."

Re: Group Seven: Shiro - Elizabeth Weir

[identity profile] like-a-sponge.livejournal.com 2006-07-12 04:04 am (UTC)(link)
"But where do you draw the line? What's a national issue versus a classified one that simply involves the nation?" Greg asked.

Re: Group Seven: Shiro - Elizabeth Weir

[identity profile] notcalledlizzie.livejournal.com 2006-07-12 04:05 am (UTC)(link)
"Aliens?" suggested Elizabeth innocently, her face perfectly straight.

Re: Group Seven: Shiro - Elizabeth Weir

[identity profile] like-a-sponge.livejournal.com 2006-07-12 04:11 am (UTC)(link)
"What kind of aliens?" Greg asked, setting his jaw a little. "Because not all of them are harmful, and not all of them want everyone to know they're aliens. So I don't think that's an ambiguous one."

Re: Group Seven: Shiro - Elizabeth Weir

[identity profile] notcalledlizzie.livejournal.com 2006-07-12 04:13 am (UTC)(link)
"The kind of aliens that want to suck out your life force and/or enslave the population of Earth, making us worship them as false gods?" suggested Elizabeth, before realizing that was perhaps a bit too specific there.

Re: Group Seven: Shiro - Elizabeth Weir

[identity profile] like-a-sponge.livejournal.com 2006-07-12 04:19 am (UTC)(link)
Greg paused. "Yeah, okay, those sound bad. I don't think we have any aliens like that here."

Re: Group Seven: Shiro - Elizabeth Weir

[identity profile] notcalledlizzie.livejournal.com 2006-07-12 04:20 am (UTC)(link)
"Not any more at least," muttered Elizabeth under her breath.

Re: Group Seven: Shiro - Elizabeth Weir

[identity profile] like-a-sponge.livejournal.com 2006-07-12 04:35 am (UTC)(link)
"Okay, so do you think that was successful?" Greg asked. "'Cause you totally won my vote."

Re: Group Seven: Shiro - Elizabeth Weir

[identity profile] notcalledlizzie.livejournal.com 2006-07-12 04:37 am (UTC)(link)
Elizabeth grinned. "Oh good. That sounds successful enough to me," she said. "Okay, your turn."

Re: Group Seven: Shiro - Elizabeth Weir

[identity profile] like-a-sponge.livejournal.com 2006-07-12 04:43 am (UTC)(link)
"Okay." Greg smiled. "So, I guess you're from the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences, if you're here to present me with my Nobel Prize in Chemistry."

Re: Group Seven: Shiro - Elizabeth Weir

[identity profile] notcalledlizzie.livejournal.com 2006-07-12 04:44 am (UTC)(link)
"And what, precisely, have you done to feel that you merit such a presigious award?" asked Elizabeth, quirking an eyebrow.

Re: Group Seven: Shiro - Elizabeth Weir

[identity profile] like-a-sponge.livejournal.com 2006-07-12 04:52 am (UTC)(link)
"Well, there's my discovery and development of conductive polymers," Greg said cockily.
