"Morning, dudes! Today's my last day, and it's detention, and that's..." Ted trailed off in thought. "Actually, that's pretty much like when I was in high school. Anyway, war is hell and so is detention. So today, each of you dudes will face off with a most heinous spawn of Hell and you'll have to escape and/or defeat the bad dude. Okay? Excellent!"

There were five doors in front of them. Each door was a different color and had the student's name on it. "You can take in whatever you've got on you, but weapons and magic won't do any good. They're just hologrammy things. Step up, dudes. Oh, and at the end? You all get Twinkies."

"In front of you is pretty much everything you can find in any standard Kwik Stop or Circle K. And a backpack. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to come up with a time travel survival kit. If you had to go time travelling, what would you take with you? I highly recommend the pudding cups and bubble gum. The only catch is that it has to fit into your backpack."

Draco definitely took Ted's advice and put bubble gum in the backpack. He then added some duct tape, a water bottle and a few twinkies. Rubber bands were also a must.

Now would making a blow gun out of a straw and tic tacs really be useful in the real world? He decided to put it in there just in case.

Parker grabbed water, a handful of lighters, some cigarettes-- because hey, you could trade them for things-- sunglasses and a hat, a couple packets of mixed nuts, toilet paper, then stopped, trying to figure out what she'd need next.

Hermione carefully selects some water, some non-perishable food items, batteries (she doesn't know when she'll be going to), pens and a notebook to record observations, and yes, gum is a good idea in case she isn't somewhere that water is readily available, and a medical kit.

She then keeps on the lookout in case anything else strikes her.

Parker saw Hermione grabbing batteries, and muttered to herself. "Smart." She grabbed a few, then the medical supplies, then tried to remember what Zero took with her into Locker 327. "Cell-phone: useful or not?" she queried.

Hermione considers this. "Possibly. I'm not sure it would be guaranteed to work, but it's worth a shot. And if not, the parts might be used in an emergency."

"Ooo. Good point." Parker frowned, and grabbed a bottle of sunscreen while she was at it. "Although it makes me wish I'd taken shop. I'd have no idea how to do that." She yawned hugely. "Coffee. Must. Take. Coffee."

"Will you have a way to brew it?" Hermione asks. "If you need caffeine that badly, you might be better off getting something in pill form."

Parker blinked at her, then nodded. "Space is at a premium. Chocolate and No-Doz." She grabbed both, stuffing them in the backpack, then raised an eyebrow. "Lottery winner, or actual offender?"

"I wouldn't exactly call it a lottery winner," Hermione sighs.

"Neither would I." Parker shuddered a moment. "And I thought Professor Logan would be an easy person to have Detention with. Gah!" She grabbed a bag of lemon drops for sugar rush, then a tiny thing of toothpaste and a brush.

"Good idea," Hermione says, also taking one of the toothpaste brushes and tubes.

Parker glared at the all-in-one shampoo-conditioner, then resignedly added a little bottle of that, too, as well as a comb, and a little bottle of detergent. "What else, what else... playing cards. At least I can try to earn money through poker, if I get stuck somewhere. And maybe a flashlight, too."

Pip had always thought that Ted was a smart fellow, so he took his advice and took the pudding cups and bubble gum. He also took some pre-packeged jerky and chips for food and a bottle of water or two. He also grabs a flashlight, some batteries, and some shiny looking useless souviner trinket things for bartering with primative cultures.
