Talent Show, Fandom High Auditorium, Friday Afternoon, 07.07.06

The all too familiar opening chords of Europe's The Final Countdown sounded and after a short delay for dramatic effect, GOB danced out onto the auditorium stage. He pulled blue and gold handkerchief chains out of both sleeves (which was difficult with a hand still in a cast) until the chains clearly met in the middle underneath his shirt. A large burst of smoke appeared on stage and when it cleared, the handkerchiefs had turned into two cages of doves. One of the doves fell over in the cage, choking on the smoke.

Over the next couple minutes he disappeared cards, linked and unlinked rings, and made his cast say "GO GREMLINS." It was slightly more impressive than should normally be expected from GOB.

When the music wound down, GOB stepped up to the microphone. "Welcome, ladies, gentlemen, and others. Today you will witness the finest example of amateur talent you have ever seen. Unless they suck. If they suck, you should make sure they know they suck. Not just today. Boo them this weekend, too. They'll deserve it for making me a liar."

"Anyway, let's hear it for today's acts!"

"Sam's got a giiiiiirlfriend," Dawn drawled, still gasping for air. "And she sings!" More giggling, and she couldn't believe Molly had missed this.

Sam made a small whimpering noise and tried to bury himself further in the chair. "Kill me? Please? Dean will forgive you, I promise."

"Are you kidding?" Dawn asked, giggling, "He's probably the one handing out your phone number."

"And frankly, I'm more worried that Johnina won't forgive us for killing her hunk of burning love," Chloe added. "I'd hate to cause her any undue emo."

Sam shot Chloe a dirty look before turning to Dawn. "Dean wouldn't...oh, who am I kidding, he would totally do that," he said.

"You would make poor Johnina emo? Oh, for shame, you bad, bad person," Dawn thwapped him lightly, "All she wants to do is love you and this is how you treat her???"

"I am so glad you're enjoying yourself during my time of utter embarrassment. You're the best roommate ever," Sam snarked, pouting. "I don't even know those people!" he said, making his one last bit of defense.

"Of course you do," Dawn corrected him, ignoring the slight against her character for the moment.

She pointed, "That's Johnina and Gregette, who tried out for cheerleading, and their friend Petra from out of town. Don't you listen to the radio? Maybe you need your eyes checked?"

"Oh, so that's where Petra came from. She's very lovely. I wonder if it's just Johnina, or if all three of them want to share you," Chloe said thoughtfully.

Sam just sputtered at Chloe, turning bright red. "You are a bad person. And you're not helping either," he said to Dawn, turning on her. "Yes, I listen to the radio, sometimes. But...wait, did you say they tried to be cheerleaders?" he asked, remembering the conversation he had after the cheerleading party with Peter.

"I'm totally helping," Dawn nodded, smirking at Chloe. "I'm just not helping you, because it's not as funny. And yeah, I think I saw a poster about that when we were still back in the cabins."

"Me too," Chloe replied. "I know Johnina would have made an awesome cheerleader. She's so strong and athletic."

"I don't know," Dawn considered, "Greg's got the all important good hair, and that means a lot when you're a cheerleader."

"Oooh, that's a good point. It's important to look the part if you're going to be a good cheerleader." Chloe gave Sam a light nudge. "You know, most guys would be flattered if they had cheerleaders dedicating songs to them."

"I'm already dating a cheerleader, thank you," Sam said, before he made a strangled gasping noise. "Oh god, please tell me Buffy's not here somewhere to have witnessed that."

Dawn glanced around quickly. "I don't see her, but if you see someone lecturing the weird sisters later, you'll know she was here."

She may have looked a little entertained by that idea.

Sam buried his face in his hands, mumbling to himself about how he was going to die, and take the crazy cheerleader wannabes with him.

"You're not gonna die," she patted him on the shoulder. "You're just gonna be mortified and be getting flowers from a guy who likes to wear drag for a while."

"And this is good attention," Chloe added. "Now everyone who doesn't know you will be wondering who you are and why you got a whole song dedicated to you. You should be flattered that they chose you to pick on. That means you've been officially accepted into Fandom High society."

"But I didn't do anything to them, I don't think," Sam replied, almost at the point of whining. "You don't think they'll really send me flowers, do you? I have to find out if Dean was involved in this," he added absently.

Dawn couldn't help staring at her boneheaded roommate. "Sam. They just got up on stage and dedicated a song to you. I don't think flowers are going to cause them a problem."

"Good luck with that. I bet he'd say he was, even if he wasn't, just because he thought it was funny."

"If he wasn't involved, he can help me plot revenge," Sam explained. "Hell, he'd probably be willing to help me even if he was involved."

"Oh, come on. There's no need for revenge," Chloe says, smiling. "In the grand scheme of craziness that's gone on around here, this is nothing."

Sam glanced at Chloe, rolling his eyes. "That's because you're not the one who just got mortally embarassed in front of a room full of people."

"Revenge just ends you up in detention playing dodgeball or wearing a really tight corset," Dawn told him. "Trust me on this one."
