Flight & Flying [Friday morning]

The flight shed was closed when the workshop arrived. "Today we're heading up to Selkie Cove," Anakin said, smiling. "We're going to hang glide off the cliff. And before you ask, yes, there are helmets involved."

He looked around at them all. "And if you fall, I can catch you. But do us all a favor and don't let go, okay?"

[OOC: Up early because I'm out of town beginning tomorrow. Anakin'll be super quiet, so please don't try to plunge to your deaths.]

Rory was bouncing after her turn. "Hi!" she greeted.

"Hi," Aeryn greets her, and probably unnecessarily, asks, "What did you think?"

"Thought I was going to die, but then I didn't, and it was very quiet," Rory told her, still bouncing a little.

Aeryn smiles a little. "I'm glad you didn't die. Well done."

"Always a plus, not to plummet to my death," Rory agreed. A thought occurred to her, and she slanted a look at Aeryn. "So...doing anything exciting this weekend?"

"I might go to that party for Jarod tonight, not quite sure yet. Other than that, no plans," Aeryn answers. "You?"

"Going to the party, and then headed on a tiny little vacation for the rest of the weekend." She nodded at Anakin. "Someone's never seen New York and would like to. Plus it'd nice to be away for a couple days."

"Sometimes it's really needed," Aeryn agrees. "You'll be back for the cabins?"

"Yeah, we'll be back Sunday night." And then Rory figured she might as well just ask. "You know, someone'll need to watch Vladdie while I'm gone...."

Oblivious, because it doesn't occur to her that anyone would ask her, she says, "I'm sure you can find someone."

"Maybe one of my neighbors. Oh, no, Jack is out of town, though," Rory said. "So...who else lives near me? Oh wait! You do!"

Aeryn raises her eyebrows. "You want me to watch Vladdie?"

"He likes you," Rory said.

"You want me to watch Vladdie," she repeats.

"It'll be fun!" she said encouragingly. "He doesn't need a lot. Just a snack every now and then and to not go out in the sunshine. You'll barely notice he's around."

Aeryn stops herself from asking the question again. "You know I have very little experience with dogs. Sean was Angel's pet."

"I'd never had a dog before Vladdie," Rory pointed out. "And Anakin knows nothing aboud dogs and he watched him for me when I was gone for a few days. If Anakin can, you shouldn't have any problems. Please? I'll owe you one...."

Dammit. Sighing, unable to believe she's agreeing to this, she says, "Fine."

"Really?"

Rory kind of hadn't expected her to agree.

She shrugs. "Maybe he can watch the sea monkeys or something. ...He won't eat the sea monkeys, will he?"

Rory shook her head. "He just drinks his blood out of wee bottles that I'll leave with you. Never really shown an interest in eating anything else. He'll probably try to play with them, if he figures out they're possible friends."

After enough time practically living in 238, the blood doesn't even freak Aeryn out. "I'll just put the tank up higher- No, that doesn't really work. I'll figure something out."

"Yeah, and that reminds me that sometimes he likes to hang out on the ceiling. I don't know why," Rory said, shrugging.

"Thank you for the warning," says Aeryn, who at least knows to expect things a vampire puppy staring at her when she wakes up.

"But it'll be fun! You and John can take him for walkies!"
