When the students were all in the Danger Shop ~~which they had totally handwavily been told was the location for the day, okay?~~, Becky smiled.

"Hi. Last workshop. What we're doing here today is putting everything you've learned to good use."

She pressed a button on the remote, and the Danger Shop transformed into a poorly-lit, crowded bar. Onstage, a pretty blonde girl no older than eighteen was dancing and swinging a lasso.

And yes - it was all in black and white, as were the students themselves, save for a few splashes of color here and there.

"Your assignment, boys and girls, is to pick someone up. Find a seat at the bar or a table, and within minutes, someone'll come along. You're to make small talk with them, and then get the person in question to want to have sex with you. Make sure to specify what you're into, and that you use protection. People in Kadie's usually like to know these things. You have until the end of class today to accomplish this goal. People who make it into compromising positions get cookies."

She held up three fingers. "Few rules before I turn you loose. One - if you get far enough to where the virtual person wants to have sex with you, your portion of the Danger Shop will dim immediately, and your virtual person will disappear. No getting me in trouble. Two - order what you want from Shellie, but if you act drunk, you're getting detention. And three - things in Kadie's can get kinda rough. Be nice to the other patrons, and they'll be nice to you. And if they aren't, I'll take care of it. Oh, and if you have a significant other to worry about, don't fret, guys. They're virtual people, and you don't even have to touch most of 'em to let 'em know what you want. It's all about the talking, baby."

She smiled. "Have fun, kiddies."

D was more interested in being nearly colorless and her drink than she was in the dancing girl with questionable tastes in attire.

So she took a seat at the bar and turned it about so that she could people watch.

From a nearby table, an expressionless man was studying her. "You're new," he noted.

"And you aren't." D leaned back a little in her seat to see how this would play out.

"Astute observation," Dwight said, nodding at her. "What brings you to Kadie's?"

D returned the nod. This? Was much more difficult in practice than in theory. She flailed a little on the inside and made up something. Something lame. "Just looking for a little fun. You?"

"I like people-watching," Dwight said with a shrug. He gave her a lazy once-over. "Sometimes they're interesting."

"And what has your people-watching taught you today?" D cast a glance over the crowd then looked down at her now empty glass. "Drink?"

"That sometimes very beautiful women walk into dingy places like this and light the whole joint up," he said, his expression never faltering.

D raised an eyebrow at that and picked up her refreshed glass from the bar behind her. She looked him over at leisure. "That's an interesting observation."

"It's a true one," he said seriously. "Got a name, angel?"

"Name's D'anna." Making up her mind, she slid from her perch and took the seat next to his at the table, without asking. "And you are?"

"Dwight," he said, barely blinking at her as she joined him. "New to the area, or just the bar?"

"All of the above." She took a sip of her drink. "This the only place you go to people-watch?"

"Nah, but Kadie's has the most diverse group," Dwight noted. "Everyone from Nancy," he pointed to the stage, "to Marv, over there in the corner." He indicated a huge hulk of a man whose face was scarred and mottled as rocks.

"Each with a tale to tell." D said as her gaze followed his direction. She turned her eyes back to him. "And here you sit, silently watching, removed from it all, lord of all you survey... or do you have a story, too?"

"I'm uninteresting," he said, almost smiling. "Just your average, run of the mill guy. It's kind of my work, too. I photograph people."

"And there's never a story behind the camera." D half grinned and gave him a knowing look. "My folks do that. I do too, when I can."

"I keep quiet," he replied, returning the look. "Other people interest me more than myself anyway. Like you. Where're you from?"

"You wouldn't believe me if I told you," D smirked to herself. "I'm currently living on an island off the coast of Virginia. What else do you do for fun, other than people-watch?"

"I like sex and fast cars," Dwight told her, still without his expression or inflection flickering.

"Sounds like we have a lot in common then." Not that just talking wasn't fun, but it was time to get down to business. After all, D was a ~~cylon with a mission~~ girl with an assignment to complete. "I'm fresh out of cars though."

"Pity," Dwight said, looking at her and just barely smiling. "How do you feel about alleys? Or should we find somewhere a little more secluded?"

"A real shame." D smirked. "A little more secluded would do nicely. Rats and the waste of vagrants gone-by don't really do it for me."

"Woman after my own heart," Dwight replied, finishing his drink in a swallow. "I've got a car. Hardtop. Parked not far from here."

D downed what was left of her drink and stood up. Normally a car wouldn't do it for her either, but this was picking up a hologram for class and therefore gold. "Let's go."
