Sexual Education [07/06] - Thursday Afternoon

When the students were all in the Danger Shop ~~which they had totally handwavily been told was the location for the day, okay?~~, Becky smiled.

"Hi. Last workshop. What we're doing here today is putting everything you've learned to good use."

She pressed a button on the remote, and the Danger Shop transformed into a poorly-lit, crowded bar. Onstage, a pretty blonde girl no older than eighteen was dancing and swinging a lasso.

And yes - it was all in black and white, as were the students themselves, save for a few splashes of color here and there.

"Your assignment, boys and girls, is to pick someone up. Find a seat at the bar or a table, and within minutes, someone'll come along. You're to make small talk with them, and then get the person in question to want to have sex with you. Make sure to specify what you're into, and that you use protection. People in Kadie's usually like to know these things. You have until the end of class today to accomplish this goal. People who make it into compromising positions get cookies."

She held up three fingers. "Few rules before I turn you loose. One - if you get far enough to where the virtual person wants to have sex with you, your portion of the Danger Shop will dim immediately, and your virtual person will disappear. No getting me in trouble. Two - order what you want from Shellie, but if you act drunk, you're getting detention. And three - things in Kadie's can get kinda rough. Be nice to the other patrons, and they'll be nice to you. And if they aren't, I'll take care of it. Oh, and if you have a significant other to worry about, don't fret, guys. They're virtual people, and you don't even have to touch most of 'em to let 'em know what you want. It's all about the talking, baby."

She smiled. "Have fun, kiddies."

"Nancy," she said, leaning on the bar and - probably unintentionally - offering quite the view of her scantily-clad and lanky torso. "So why the passing through? Where're you originally from?"

He glanced - because really - but reined it in to meet her eyes, shrugging slightly. "Seattle. Things were kind of rough, so I'm on the road for now." His smile warmed. "Though I'm always willing to take a break if the company's nice."

She blushed - as much as a monochromatic person can, so really she just deepened in grayness - and said, "Poor thing. Things 'round here can get kinda nasty at times, but that's why I always pick a nice-looking gentleman to talk to on my break. No one'll try to talk me up that way."

"Couldn't say I'm nice as all that," he demurred, signalling to the bartender for a glass of water for the shy girl. "But I'm willing to be your cover if you need it. What about after the show; could I buy you a drink?"

"You sure could," Nancy said, smiling at him. "And maybe I could give you a tour of Basin City later. I've got a car and stuff."

Oh, he'd definitely have to tell Max about this. Alec grinned at her. "I'd like that." He picked up his glass and toasted her before taking a small sip. "I wouldn't mind seeing any sights you think are worth the trip."

"Well, my poor car's kind of an old clunker, so there's always the chance of getting stranded somewhere," she apologized in advance, shyly looking at her own glass.

"I'm sure it'll be fine," he assured her with a smile. "We'd better make sure to bring supplies, just in case. Don't want to be stranded without protection of some sort."

Nancy giggled.

"No, definitely wouldn't want that," she said, grinning at him. "Anything else you think I should bring?" She raised an eyebrow. "I have some...stuff...at my place."

Alec grinned slowly. "I'm always up for new experiences," he said. "But with a girl as pretty as you, I don't think we'll need anything else to keep us busy."

And again with the blushing. "You're sweet," she decided. "And you should stay and watch the rest of the show."

She winked. "Only a few get to see it privately. We'll see how the night goes - maybe you'll get the chance."

He nodded, arching an eyebrow in amusement at her wink. "I'll look forward to it."

Nancy eyed the stage. "Speaking of, I ought to get back up there. See you after," she said quietly, unhooking her lasso from her belt and hoisting herself onto the bar to get there.

Once she was onstage, the music started, and Nancy began to dance again, keeping her eye on Alec as discreetly as she could.

He turned to lean against the bar, watching her as he sipped his drink slowly. Whenever she glanced his way, he nodded very slightly and smiled.

A few minutes passed, and Nancy's act wrapped. She ignored the catcalls as usual and hopped off the stage, tossing her lasso behind the bar. "Hi," she said to Alec, breathlessly.

"Hi," he greeted her, warmly. "You still want that drink, or would you rather get out of here?"

"Getting out of here sounds good," she said, breezing past him to get her things from the back.

"It's not often I meet cute guys who don't seem to be armed to the teeth," she noted when she returned, a t-shirt over her weetiny skimpy top.

"Oh, I'm armed," he assured her, moving to join the girl and lifting one hand to rest lightly at the middle of her back as they headed towards the door. "Just less obviously than some. And sometimes weapons just get in the way." Alec smiled charmingly at her. "I think I'm more than equipped to deal with whatever comes my way."

Nancy raised an eyebrow at him and gave him a once-over, and blushed deeply. "Really? That's...informative."

He smirked and let his hand slide down her back a little as he guided her out the door. "Pointedly so." Walking to the car, he kept in close step with her, letting his arm slide around her shoulders loosely.

"Which isn't a bad thing," she decided, nodding to her giant heap of a car. "I'd offer to let you drive, but no one can keep her running but me."

"Well, since you know where we're going, that'll work just as well," he said, making sure she got in okay before he took the passenger side. "And I can admire a woman with a good touch for finicky machinery," he added, grinning at her.

Nancy smiled and drove the approximate three blocks to her tiny apartment. "This is my place. I have to...run in and get something." She gave him a shy, inviting look. "Want to come up for awhile?"

"As long as you're inviting," he said, getting out of the car and following her up.

Nancy flung open the door to her apartment, where there were stacks and stacks of heavy tomes littering the floor. "Sit down and I'll get us some drinks," she called, heading into a weebitty kitchen.
