Archery Workshop #6, 6/27, Danger Shop, Afternoon

As the students enter the Danger Shop, they will find that it is set up very differently from previous sessions. However, the set-up, a rough-looking part of an old town, may seem familiar to some of the students. The scenery is entirely in black and white, as are the students themselves. Ain't technology grand?

Miho stands next to a blackboard, looking alert and almost...cheerful. Unlike in previous sessions, she has a quiver of arrows at her back and a strung bow in hand. The blackboard says, ARM YOURSELVES. The students will find that their bows are standard, but the arrows in their quivers have been modified with spongey tips soaked in red ink. Also available are white cover-alls to protect clothing, should the students so choose. Once everyone is armed and/or dressed, Miho flips the blackboard over.

DODGING AND SITUATIONAL AWARENESS
1. Get to the other end of the street without getting hit anywhere vital.
2. If you get hit somewhere vital, you are Out.
2a. I am optimistically pretending you know what constitutes 'vital.'
3. If you are not trying to the best of your ability, you are fair game for the teacher.
3a. Actually, you are fair game for the teacher no matter what.
4. If you get to the other end of the street, there are brownies.
5. Yes, your targets are one another.
6. You may pick up and use spent arrows to replenish your ammunition.
7. Good luck.

By the time the students finish reading this list, Miho will have vanished to her preferred vantage point on the roof.

Buffy armed herself quickly, and beamed. Off course, stakes would have been better, but she understood that you weren't really to kill the others. That would be bad.

Instead of looking enthusiastic about the possibility of shooting classmates, Bel appeared tired and nervous, wishing he could be somewhere else.

Conner glanced over in the middle of strapping his quiver on so not as dirty as that sounds and raised an eyebrow in Bel's direction. "You okay today, man?"

"Huh? What?" Bel said, tearing himself from his thoughts. "I'm, uh, okay," he lied. "Just didn't sleep well last night I guess." He forced a chuckle.

"Yeah," Conner said, "you look pretty out of it. That's gonna make dodging arrows kind of harsh."

He glanced around, futilely, for any sign of Miho and shook his head. "I don't think she'll go easy on you for it either."

Way to go, Conner. Be motivational.

Dean noticed. "You look better than you did when you were red and demony, but that's not saying much. Something up?"

"Just didn't sleep well," Bel said evasively. Then out of the corner of his eye he saw the girl again. He spun around, but she was gone.

Dean followed the line of Bel's gaze when he spun around, but didn't see anything. It was a very familiar type movement however, that immediately raised the hair on the back of Dean's neck and made him want to probe some more.

"Jumpy?" he asked blandly, keeping a close eye on the half-demon's face.

Conner opted to forgo the white coveralls, because hello, red. He picked up his bow and quiver of arrows and cast a longing glance toward the brownies. He couldn't see them from here, though. "Oh, boy."

Sam was far more amused by the prospect of getting to shoot his classmates than he really should have been.

"You're looking happy," Parker commented, zipping up the white coveralls. "Who are you going to 'kill' first?"

"I don't have any specific targets in mind except for my brother. I'll have to see who leaves themselves open to be shot."

Parker grinned. "Fun kind of family loyalty there. And at least this time, she gave us weapons while we're running from her." She tested her bow. "I want those brownies, damnit. No shooting me anywhere vital!"

"You're looking cheerful about this exercise," Dean observed as he checked his bow over and settled the quiver of arrows more comfortably in place.

After talking to Bel, Conner glanced over at Parker. "Are you looking forward to this as much as I am?"

Why yes, any disgruntlement was due to the whole monochromatic issue.

"Probably more." Parker rolled her eyes, then grinned. "I'll share the brownies with you if you just don't shoot me."

Isabel picked up her bow and quiver of arrows but decided to pass on the coveralls. She studied the street trying to pick out spots with good cover.

Arming herself tentatively, Sakurazaki seems to be spending a significant amount of time reviewing the rules for the excersize today, thoughtfully. Avoiding others' arrows and getting to the other side should not be difficult at all; what was troubling her was how much was expected of them to be shooting. She frowns; the sign does a poor job of helping her, and plus, yeah. Reading English still sucked.

Normally, Molly would have had a lot of fun with today's class. But, she hadn't slept after her dream last night and was exhausted. She put on the white cover-alls and collected her archery gear.
