Danger Shop - Detention [6/24]

As the students enter, the Danger Shop appears to be a mostly empty room with a half circle of chairs in the middle.

The focal point of the half circle is a large white board which has a list of names on one half. The other half is covered at the moment.

Belthazor
Marie D'Ancanto
Timothy Desmond
Walter Dornez
Tyler Durden
Kaylee Fry
Phoebe Halliwell
Charles Kawalsky
Jamie Madrox
Setsuna Sakurazaki
Nadia Santos
Stark

Once everyone has arrived, Veronica begins briefing them.

"I don't know what you guys did to earn detention today and frankly, I don't care. Today we're going to solve a mystery and you're going to put someone else's well being before for your own."

She uncovers the other half of the board, which has a list of information about a missing girl, including a physical description.

"The girls' parents believe she has run off with her boyfriend and don't want to involve the authorities. It's your job to find her."

Nadia peered blearily around the room. After her conversation with Anders last night, she hadn't been able to fall asleep for awhile, and thus was very, very tired.

She wandered over to the bookcase and lazily scanned the titles while she tried to figure out where to look.

It was the usual fare of melodramatic teenaged girl romanaces, plus a scattering of school type books--okay, wait a minute. Nadia looked over the titles again. Sure enough, there were two copies of a particular grammar guide in hardcover. Now what kind of girl other than the mun who has three identical copies of Strunk and White had more than one copy of the same grammar guide in her bookshelf?

One had a dustcover, the other didn't. She grabbed the dustcovered one and opened it.

Jackpot. The girl had used the cover of the book to camoflage her diary. A few moments later, she had a name.

"Wow. That guy just sounds like a winner."
