There are drinks set out on a folding table near the unlit campfire, and a couple of baskets filled with apples, oranges, and bananas, because sometimes you have to balance out all the doughnuts/twinkies/s'mores, after all. There's also a cardboard box at each end of the table, as yet unopened. Xander is standing in front of the table handing out cups.

"You'll probably each want something to drink, because I'm gonna make you talk, and some of you might be the type to get dry throats when you do this kind of talking.

Last week we looked at one specific job someone might have on a team; this time, we'll go with a skill that can be useful for anybody when you're trying to support your fellow Scooby-types -- or your flashy superpowered leader, if you have one. I figure we'll probably switch back and forth between those two things each week for most of the workshop, and look at putting them together towards the end.

So what skill comes in really handy when you're trying to investigate a crime, stop the bad guys, rescue the princess or otherwise save the day for goodness, justice, puppies, and truth?

The ability to lie your ass off.

I know that sounds kind of contradicty, like 'jumbo shrimp' or 'bad pie,' and some of you guys may not be down with bending the truth until it squeaks, but the fact is that sometimes you' might have to, at least for a while. You may need to cover for your friend with the secret identity, or your entire group that just cut class to go slay ~~vampires~~ dragons, or yourself, if you're in the wrong place at the wrong time. And hey, maybe you'll get lucky enough not to need it -- but it's a skill you should have, just in case."

Nadia blinked. "Um, one?" she guessed, since she didn't know who his roommate was, and the demon thing seemed entirely possible. "I bet you only know his middle management people."

Shiro shook his head, "Nope, try again." He smirked.

"Who's your roommate?"

Shiro grunted, "the purple hair spazz, uh, I mean James."

Nadia's eyebrows shot up. "Oh." She reached out to put a comforting hand on Shiro's shoulder. "I'm sorry."

Finally! Someone who understands!

"Thanks." He said.

Wait a sec...

"What-whats James been doing to get that kind of response??"

"He was bizarrely obsessed with getting my friend's monkey to wear a 'team rocket' uniform. And I don't even want to know why he carries around a smelly ball of smelliness in his pocket."

"oh yeah...the monkey..." Shiro couldn't help but laugh remembering how James had dove across the room, the teeny uniform in hand. "Hey, did he catch him?"

Nadia shook her head. "Nope. He got distracted by my cat and my boyfriend's dog."

Shiro laughed again, "did he try to stick them in uniforms too?"

"Not that I saw . . . I think Pup and Furrball were too busy running him over."

Shiro laughed harder. That would have been something he would have liked to have seen.

"Yeah." he chuckled and nodded, "that sounds exactly like James."
