Detention - 06/10

The Danger Shop, when students enter, looks like a somewhat rough part of an older part of a town. There were a few old cars around, one of which was noticably red - noticably mainly due to the fact that everything was in black and white - including the kids themselves and if the Danger Shop can't do that, then *handwave* now it can - save for a few splashes of color.

Becky was leaning against a wall, a piece of chalk in her hand. Miho was, naturally, nowhere to be found. And she wouldn't be, until she felt the need to be seen. On the wall, in suprisingly neat writing, read:

Alec
Joxer
Walter Dornez
Tyler Durden
Gwynn Hood
Pippi Longstocking
Jamie Madrox
Conner McKnight
Cameron Mitchell
M. Parker
Peter Parker
Peter Pevensie
Nadia Santos
Dawn Summers
Dean Winchester
Sam Winchester

She crossed names off as students filed in.

[OOC: Naturally, OCD is coming up, yay! Also, getting this up now as I? Have not made with the sleepination yet, and neither has Miho's player. Will be responding from about noon EST onwards.

ETA: see availability in Rory's journal back, and my cat is fine. :) Thank you everyone for thinking of me.]

Pippi looks around for a partner. She's confident she'd be able to bust out of these things pretty easy.

Sadly, she's not taking into account the fact that the danger shop may compensate for strength.

Gwynn came up to Pippi dressed in the pirate outfit.

"Hey Pippi!"

Pippi was currently tormenting standing by Jamie (http://community.livejournal.com/fandomhigh/897976.html?thread=44567224#t44567224).

"Bonjour Gwynn!" she waved her feather duster.

Gwynn waved back, having no idea what she was doing.

Pippi whispered to Gwynn clandestinely.

"You need to talk like a pirate!" she said without dropping her French accent. "They said you had to be convincing."

[identity profile] notafairmaiden.livejournal.com 2006-06-10 05:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Gwynn looked at Pippi in worry.

"But I don't know how a pirate talks or what they truly are," Gwynn explained.

"Wull that's a problem..." Pippi said forgetting to keep her accent up.

Then she remembered to keep it. "I shall teach you then ma amie"

Gwynn smiled in relief. Pippi would teach her what she needed to know to get through this day.

"Thank you, Pippi."

"Not that it will make very much of a difference in how you will speak, but are you a pirate or a privateer?"

Re: Activity 2: What Would an Old Town Girl Do? (Or 'WWOTGD?)

[identity profile] notafairmaiden.livejournal.com 2006-06-10 06:01 pm (UTC)(link)
"Privateer? I don't have any idea. I think I'm a pirate for today... I think."

Re: Activity 2: What Would an Old Town Girl Do? (Or 'WWOTGD?)

[identity profile] strongestgirl.livejournal.com 2006-06-10 06:06 pm (UTC)(link)
"They are essentially the same thing." Pippi explained, "Except that a Privateer has a 'Letter of Mark' from a crown. They still go about pillaging and despoiling like the bandits of the sea that are pirates... Or as I should say today 'coursair' en Fran-say-ees. But the Mark gives them legitimacy and states that their activities are part of a war effort... So it makes it a little bit legal... Just a little bit."

"Let's stick with being a pirate."

[identity profile] strongestgirl.livejournal.com 2006-06-10 06:20 pm (UTC)(link)
Pippi is clearly impressed with Gwynn's decision not to take the "legal" option.

"Certainly." she smiles, "Now that you know what to call yourself, you should know some important vocabulary words... 'Avast', means 'stop'. 'Fore' and 'aft' means 'front' and 'back'... You'll want to go about calling people 'scalawag', 'me harty', and 'chum'. Instead of saying 'you', say 'ye'. And instead of saying 'I', say 'me'. Making verbs plural helps too... Like 'me thinks' or 'me likes'..."

Tyler's eyes lasered in on Pippi. "Have you picked anybody yet?"

[identity profile] strongestgirl.livejournal.com 2006-06-10 07:23 pm (UTC)(link)
"Mais non." she says, "I was going to ask Jamie but I think he has a headache so maybe he wants to be alone oui?"

Re: Activity 2: What Would an Old Town Girl Do? (Or 'WWOTGD?)

[identity profile] tyler-gone.livejournal.com 2006-06-10 07:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Tyler swivelled his hips and dropped back into Elvis voice. "I'm thinkin' you're never alone if you're like Jamie, sweetie," he said. "D'you wanna be the cuffer or the cuffed?"

Re: Activity 2: What Would an Old Town Girl Do? (Or 'WWOTGD?)

[identity profile] strongestgirl.livejournal.com 2006-06-10 07:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Pippi giggled, far be it for her to turn down The King.

"Um... I think perhaps it would be better for moi to be the cuffed."

[identity profile] tyler-gone.livejournal.com 2006-06-10 07:56 pm (UTC)(link)
"As the li'l lady wishes," Elvis!Tyler said.

Business-like, he snapped the cuffs onto Pippi. "Not too tight, sugar?"

[identity profile] strongestgirl.livejournal.com 2006-06-10 07:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Pippi wriggled her fingers behind her back.

"Non." she said, "Not at all. This shouldn't take... Long?"

Pippi jerked her wrists, expecting to be able to snap the chain that connected the cuffs with ease... But they didn't come apart like she expected.

[identity profile] tyler-gone.livejournal.com 2006-06-10 08:04 pm (UTC)(link)
Tyler chuckled. "Don't think you can yank them off just like that.Maybe we need something to cut the chain with?"

He's Elvis, but he's also Tyler. Either way, he doesn't pick locks.

[identity profile] strongestgirl.livejournal.com 2006-06-10 08:13 pm (UTC)(link)
"I think you are correct chu-chu. I normally would be able to break these but..." *yank yank*

Okay, now it was a matter of principle, this was ridiculous. Pippi was starting to think she was cursed where the Danger Shop was concerned. She leaned over and brought her arms down around her legs so she could see the cuffs. She twisted her hands around and curled her fingers around the part of the cuffs where they were attached and pulled. And pulled. Aaaaaand nothing.

"Zees iz not 'appening." she mutters to herself straitening back up.

Tyler crooked an eyebrow at Pippi's contortions, then began wordlessly rummaging through the supplies on one of the dressers. He comes out with a large, sharp hairpin with a jewel at one end. "Think this will, ah, do the job?"

Re: Activity 2: What Would an Old Town Girl Do? (Or 'WWOTGD?)

[identity profile] strongestgirl.livejournal.com 2006-06-10 08:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Pippi tilted her head at the hairpin.

"Ya... I mean Oui. I think that would do nicely." she nodded, still twisting her wrists and yanking at the cuffs. "I'm afraid I know very little about picking the locks."

[identity profile] tyler-gone.livejournal.com 2006-06-10 08:32 pm (UTC)(link)
"That makes two 'a us," Tyler admitted.

He knelt and started blindly prodding around the keyhole of the cuffs with the end of the hairpin. "We could just leave you like this," he joked.

"Always wanted a handcuffed French Maid of your very own?" Pippi asked innocently joking.
