Book Fair

Giles had gotten up at ack o'clock and actually had toted five boxes of books to the Fandom High Gym before he "cheated."

Everything was now set up neatly on tables, and separated by genre.

There was also coffee and hot water urns, bottled water, and a variety of pastries and breads set on a table near the register.

The First Annual Fandom High Book Fair was open for business.

Threads are UP. Whew. I think you all know how this works. Go look for a book. Up to you whether you find it or not. No, there is no magic/new age section. Yes, Giles has planned it that way.

"They tried to eat me!" Willow said, clearly horrified.

"The kittens tried to eat you?" Bel said, shocked.

"No, the frogs!" Willow said. "I woke up and they were everywhere!"

"And they tried to eat you?" Fire instinctively crackled in Bel's hand as he looked around for the carnivorous frogs.

"They almost ate Pumpernickel too!" Willow said, holding up the very small kitten. Granted she had not actually seen a frog try to eat the kitten, but in Willow's court of law frogs were guilty of such crimes and would never be proven innocent.

"Don't worry," Bel said. "Any of them so much as hop near you and I'll vanquish them."

Willow beamed at him. "Thank you! You can have cookies for that as well. Though I don't have the goat's blood recipe figured out yet."

"Non-goats blood will do just fine," Bel said. Between Piper's brownies and Willow's cookies, he was going to have to start working out more.

"How are you doing?" Willow asked, giving him a look of concern. "I heard you and Tyler had badness."

"We just sparred a little," Bel said dismissively. "He got in a good shot or two. Didn't realize how good he was."

"Are you okay?" she asked. "Do you need me to try to look up healing spells?"

"I'm fine," Bel said. "I'm tough and I heal fast. Plus good magic can't heal me."

"Really?" Willow looked surprised. "What about magic with mistakes in it?"

Bel laughed. "No, good as in not evil," he explained. "Me being a demon and all."

"Oh," Willow said. "Well that's no fair!"

"Just part of what I am," Bel said, shrugging. "Normal human medicine can help me if I need it, but if I'm really hurt I need a demonic healer."

"Want me to get you an aspirin then?" Willow asked, easily adaptable.

"Nah, like I said, I'm okay," Bel said. "You can barely see the bruise anymore."

Willow squinted and looked hard.

"See, I'm fine. No worries."

"Okay, good," Willow said, relaxing. She turned her attention back to the displays. "Shame I can't buy all of these."

"Where would you put them all?" Bel said.

"That would be part of the problem," Willow agreed. "Maybe some day I'll invent a revolutionary computer program for billions of dollars and then I could buy a house that's one big library. Oh! And hire people to walk around and say Shh!"

"Wouldn't be a library without that," Bel said. He glanced around at the books. "I was hoping there would be a magic section, but I guess not."

"You noticed that too?" Willow said. "I swear it's like Giles hides those books on purporse."
