Library [06/08]

Rory managed to make it into the library fairly early, dragging the damn book with her as well as her laptop, with a cup of coffee in hand and four wide-eyed, fluffy kittens firmly attached to the legs of her jeans.

The library was open, and would likely remain so for most of the day.

There were still wee kitties clinging to both of Tyler's jeans, and he was still wearing the handcuffs as bracelets on each wrist when he came into the library that morning. "Hi, Rory. So did you figure out what the thing I saw was?"

"Hi, and no, no idea. But I think it's related to the pudding and kitties and nightmares," Rory said worriedly.

"People are having nightmares?" Tyler's skin prickled. "My roommate might have that. We had kind of an intense conversation in the middle of the night a few nights ago and he didn't leave the room after it."

"My friend had a really awful nightmare, and Bridge told me that he and I both have dark energy on us and it follows that the nightmare is part of that. Also, Charlie had one yesterday, and I guess Cal was acting weird on Monday," she replied woefully.

"If Cal's the blonde chick who wears leather all the time, she was," Tyler nodded. "She was in the library talking to someone who wasn't there and beating herself up. I think Bel helped her." And of course it hadn't hit at all close to home for Tyler.

He sighed. "Okay, you know I'm not a supernatural guy. Is there anything I can do?"

"Want to research?" she asked, gesturing to Buffy, Dawn and Willow. "We're poring through books today, and some of them are in English if you don't read Egyptian, Latin or Aramaic."

Tyler's eyes widened a bit at Willow, but he said nothing as he took a seat. "My Aramaic's rusty, but I can read English," he nodded. "Got a book for me?"

"Take your pick," she said, pointing to a table. "All those are English."

Tyler selected a thin, illustrated book on Egyptian myth and took a seat.

One of the Jamies waved at Tyler from where he was reading a book on Mummification.

"Hey Tyler? Want to see something gross?"

"Always," Tyler said with interest. "What is it?"

Jamie held up the book where there was a full color page of a mummified corpse with the whole blackened skin and what not.

"Cool, huh?"

"Extremely," Tyler said. He reached for the book; something about the mummy's face looked familiar.

"Can I borrow this for a second?"

"Sure help yourself," Jamie said handing off the book and picking up another.
