Arts & Crafts Workshop #3, Camp Dining Hall, 06.05.06, Afternoon

[OOC: Hey, I finally have a Workshop Info Post!]

"Okay, campers!" Tick said. "This week, we're going to be working on a project with glass that - if you want - you could submit to the Art Fair next week. We will be making faux stained glass today, and if you do it right, it can look downright keen!"

"You each have instruction sheets, a bottle of liquid lead to outline your image on the glass, paint brushes, and paint. Up here at the front table, you can pick up some cleaned and sanded glass and there's a lot of simple pictures from coloring books and clipart for you to use."

"Just remember, after applying the liquid lead, you should give it one to two hours to dry before applying paint. So once you get the liquid lead on there, you should move on to your scrapbooking."

"Speaking of which, last week, you started adding text to your scrapbooks. This week we'll be working on adding even more words, a thousand at a time! That's right, campers! This week we'll be using pictures! But these won't be pictures from magazines. You'll be taking these! After applying the liquid lead to your glass, come up here and take a disposable camera. There are 24 exposures. Try to take 24 pictures of anything you want, even if you have to get a picture of the grass or your hand."

"You can go ahead and wander around for up to two hours after applying your liquid lead. Return here with your cameras, get to work on your painting, and I'll have these developed for next week when you'll be working the pictures into your scrapbooks."

"Let's get to work!"

Jaye's probably spending more time trying to get the accidental liquid lead spill off the table than she is actually using it. Just because the little table spot bugs her. Also, because she's differently motivated, let's face it.

Flipping through the magazines and colouring books, there's a slight frown on Sakurazaki's face, as she finds absolutely nothing that appeals to her. Not yet. Maybe she just hasn't discovered the right thing yet. She keeps flipping, and kind of scowling at the pages. Where are all the samurai and ninja colouring books?

Tempe picked up a medium-sized rectangular piece of glass and chose a picture out of an egyptian coloring book of some pyramids and a camel (http://touregypt.net/kids/color4.gif).

She began to outline the picture using the liquid lead. It wasn't perfect, but it still looked half-decent.

Luna took an average piece of rectangular glass, and began to immediately apply the liquid lead. Design? She don't need no stinkin' design, it's all in her head!

It's quite possible that everything else is in her head too...

Maia signed in.

After a fair bit of trouble with the liquid lead and getting it all over her hands, Maia started to doodle with it on her piece of glass. Little squiggly lines here and there, the coloring book she had been planning on using laid forgotten next to her.

Kaylee searched through various pictures until she found something that interested her: a picture of a cat. Then she grabbed a piece of medium-sized rectangular glass and got to work.

Hamlet takes his window and starts drawing a picture of a boy stabbing an older man in liquid lead. It wasn't really good from an artistic point of view, but he seemed to get satisfaction out of drawing it.

A little nervous at hearing that the art exhibit would be next week, Seras set to work on her faux stained glass.

She flipped through the colouring books until she found a picture of a sweet looking puppy. With a few deft squeezes of the liquid lead, she turned it into a sweet-looking, six-eyed puppy.

She smiled and added a few liquid lead socks in the background.

Sakura has to laugh at their newest assignment, and she's not entirely sure why although her mun is. She goes about her work with an amused grin, hoping what she has planned turns out okay.
