It was going to be impossible to compete with the ocean yeeting from last week, so Anakin went in a completely different direction today, with twelve individual tables set up around the park. On the tables were an electric hot plate (plugged in via extension cords that were definitely tripping hazards), a small bowl, a pot that didn't sit level, a coffee mug, a dull chef's knife, a metal soup spoon, a spatula, a chopping board, and a plate.

In the center of the clearing was one rice cooker, one microwave, one ice cream maker, and a variety of fruits and vegetables. There were protein choices inside the fridge under the table holding the small appliances.

Anakin, wearing an Kiss the Cook (but tacky) apron, waved at the ~~incoming victims~~ inhabitants as they arrived. "Today we're mastering the art of cooking in a dormitory. Well, a dormitory not as good as the ones here. Cooking in a bad bachelor apartment! Using only the equipment I have provided, make a savory dish that would impress a first date. You'll have an hour. Halfway through I will pair you up and you will work together to make a dessert. Listen for your name and come grab your apron!"

"Oooooh." Summer was immediately locked in. "Things to tell me! So, get to spilling, let's hear it! Unless it's something we gotta bribe a few squirrels about first?"

"Nothing like that. My clothing even got reported." You would have been so proud, Summer. "Mostly I got to cry a lot at a temple and then went to a... demon magic market thing. So maybe not very juicy?"

"I mean," said Summer, who didn't bother to hide at least a small pout of disappointment that it wasn't something more scandalous or secretive, but, like, she wasn't that put out by it, either, "depends on what you got at the demon market thing. That sounds fun!

"The crying in a temple, not so much, but they both were hopefully, like, super cathartic at least?"

"The market wasn't a great place. I was just there for someone else. The temple was definitely cathartic though."

And brought up more issues but they probably didn't have time to get into that.

"How are things going so far?"

"So far, so good!" Summer was clearly happy to report. "We'll see how this installation goes, and if it all goes well, I'll probably do a nice soft open throughout the week before making it a big thing for the weekend. And I've got a good feeling about it,but even if it isn't an instant blowout, I'm really liking getting to know more of the ins and outs of Ravnica. I swear, there's never a dull moment, but things can be pretty chill, too."

"It sounds like having the ability to take a breather now and then is puke be a good thing."

At least going by what Rey's image of the place was.

"Although taking it here," Summer pointed out, "seems like a real roll of the dice, because who knows what might be going on, but I figured a Wednesday would be safe enough..."

She took a meaningful glance around them.

"So to speak."

"The summer's almost over," Rey said, because she knew. She defended it, but she knew. "And Wednesday feels like your day anyway."

"The summer might be almost over," Summer said, because she kinda had to, "but this Summer is just beginning! And, yeah, even if everyone's still stuck with Tino tonight, Wednesdays just feel right. So when I realized it lined up with the work being done, pretty much a no-brainer."
