Luau, The Main Campfire, Friday evening

The main campfire had been turned into a tropical paradise... without the tropics. There were leis and grass skirts to wear, tropical music playing, a buffet table, and the infamous Limbo Stick of Destiny, an artifact brought back to America from World War II. Noody knows what happens when a person wins a limbo competition involving the Limbo Stick of Destiny, but several experts on the subject suggest that "absolutely nothing happens except maybe you win a little trophy."

It was party time at the Fandom High Summer Camp.

[OOC: OCD is up. Yes, there is pig, poi, and sometimes the band will switch from generic tropical music to 60's beach movie music, or maybe reggae, or Raffi. They're unpredictable like that.

The luau takes place during a long break in the rain that fh_weather is reporting. Yes, I'm modding the weather. Admin privilege.]

Jaye hasn't seen Jack since he's been back. And she did make a promise on the radio. So she greets him with, "You missed the boykissy."

"I know," Jack said sadly, hanging his head. "I'm devestated."

"I hope you know you're making up for this somehow," she says seriously.

Loking around, he leaned closer and whispered, "I was talking to Dean, and we were thinking - Jack-kissy night?"

Jaye pretends to look shocked. "But who would want to do a thing like that?"

Jack slumped, looking dejected. "You don't think anyone would want to kiss me?" he asked sadly.

She stsudies him for a moment. "I'm sure with the right encouragement, one could be convinced to kiss you."

"Only one?" he asked, still looking hurt.

"I'm sure others would follow," she assures him. "Pretty positive, actually, now that I think about it."

"I don't know. I'm feeling awfully sad now." Puppy dog eyes were definitely making an appearance. "You said you thought no one would want to kiss me."

"Really?" Jack looked hopeful, then it faded into suspicion. "You're just saying that to make me feel better."

He was amazed he was managing to keep the grin under control.

She tilts her head a little at him, the corners of her mouth twitching up. "Is it working?"

"I'm too sad to tell. I don't know if I'll ever be happy again." He sighed deeply. "This is worse than the toaster."

Jaye shakes her head. "That is bad," she tells him. "Is there anything I can do to help?"

"I just don't know. You've made me doubt my kissability. I'm not sure there's a way to recover from that."

"I'm willing to work with you on that," she offers.

Jack peered at her out of the corner of his eye. "See, you say that, but I don't know if I believe you."

Jack furrowed his brow, apparently deep in thought. "Well," he said slowly. "You siad no one would want to kiss me. If only there was some way to show that wasn't true."

He was barely keeping the smirk from escaping.

Jaye fails at the hiding-the-smirk thing, and takes a couple steps closer, tilting her face up a bit. "Hm," she says thoughtfully.

She has to stand on her toes in order to reach up to kiss him, softly at first. Not so unkissable.
