Luau, The Main Campfire, Friday evening

The main campfire had been turned into a tropical paradise... without the tropics. There were leis and grass skirts to wear, tropical music playing, a buffet table, and the infamous Limbo Stick of Destiny, an artifact brought back to America from World War II. Noody knows what happens when a person wins a limbo competition involving the Limbo Stick of Destiny, but several experts on the subject suggest that "absolutely nothing happens except maybe you win a little trophy."

It was party time at the Fandom High Summer Camp.

[OOC: OCD is up. Yes, there is pig, poi, and sometimes the band will switch from generic tropical music to 60's beach movie music, or maybe reggae, or Raffi. They're unpredictable like that.

The luau takes place during a long break in the rain that fh_weather is reporting. Yes, I'm modding the weather. Admin privilege.]

"I think it might," he said seriously. "You still don't have any urge to shoot me?"

"At the moment, no," she says. And almost reluctantly adds, "You get a slight reprieve for getting Isabel home safely."

"Ah." Jack was silent for a moment. "I'm actually surprised you let me leave with her."

"She seems to trust you," she says. "And if there had been a reason? There would have been a shooting."

"She can trust me," he said firmly. "And if I'd done something to betray that trust, I'd want you to shoot me."

She believes it, and nods. "You may have earned yourself a week or two without threat of shooting," she tells him. "From me, at least. I make no guarantees for anyone else."

"Oh, Aeryn," he said, abandoning seriousness and fluttering his eyelashes at her. "You know yours is the only opinion that really matters."

She shakes her head at him. "There will be none of that," she tells him. "And you only say that because I'm the only one who's shot you."

"That I remember," he pointed out, laughing softly. "But a week or two of no shooting from you is like a lifetime's promise from others."

She starts to say something, then has to stop herself. "All right, you have a point there," she admits.

"I know." He smiled smugly. "And I really won't do anything you have to shoot me for. I promise."

Aeryn pauses. "It could be interpreted that you just turned this around so that you're helping me," she informs him.

"Are you sure?" he asked, ramping up the innocence and throwing in puppy dog eyes for good measure.

"I didn't think that needed to be said anymore," she shrugs. "Also, not for a week."
