Luau, The Main Campfire, Friday evening

The main campfire had been turned into a tropical paradise... without the tropics. There were leis and grass skirts to wear, tropical music playing, a buffet table, and the infamous Limbo Stick of Destiny, an artifact brought back to America from World War II. Noody knows what happens when a person wins a limbo competition involving the Limbo Stick of Destiny, but several experts on the subject suggest that "absolutely nothing happens except maybe you win a little trophy."

It was party time at the Fandom High Summer Camp.

[OOC: OCD is up. Yes, there is pig, poi, and sometimes the band will switch from generic tropical music to 60's beach movie music, or maybe reggae, or Raffi. They're unpredictable like that.

The luau takes place during a long break in the rain that [livejournal.com profile] fh_weather is reporting. Yes, I'm modding the weather. Admin privilege.]

Alec looked confused for barely a second before grinning slightly. "Sorry if we kept you up. And thanks," he said, nodding at Jack's shirt in agreement. "They're definitely a statement of something."

"Hey, I was just disappointed that no one invited me." Jack waved a hand dismissively. "Don't worry about it. And I'm thinking that shirtlessness may have to make an appearance soon. There's only so much of this floral frivolity I can take."

Snickering, Alec nodded. "I have no idea where this shirt came from, but it fit the theme anyway. I don't think anyone would actually object, should we decided to go without though."

"Of course they won't! You and me, shirtless? We make anything better." Jack considered the shirt. "Don't know about you, but I often find stray pieces of clothing in my room."

Alec smirked. "Guys' clothes, not so much. And given the size of my wardrobe right now, something new would be pretty obvious and suspicious." Alec frowned slightly at that thought and fingered the lapel of the brightly flowered shirt he had on, eyeing it warily.

"I'm sure it's nothing to worry about." Jack laid a reassuring hand on his shoulder. "This place is strange. Randomly appearing Hawaiian shirts sounds pretty normal, especially on Luau night." Frowning slightly, he ran his hand down Alec's arm until he touched skin. "You're really warm, did you know that?"

Alec blinked and looked down at where Jack was touching him. "Yeah. Higher basal body temperature than humans," he said, glancing up. He grinned. "Could do shirtlessness all year round, unless it hits freezing."

Jack let him go, looking intrigued. "You're not human? You look human."

Re: Main campfire

[identity profile] x5-alec.livejournal.com 2006-06-02 11:40 pm (UTC)(link)
"Human on the outside," he agreed, grinning. "Not so much on the inside."

Re: Main campfire

[identity profile] anextimeagent.livejournal.com 2006-06-02 11:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Jack was absolutely fascinated, and his hand might have been creeping closer to Alec's arm. "What's on the inside?"

"Mostly feline DNA, some others mixed in with the human, as well as modifications and enhancements," he said, watching Jack's hand with some amusement. "I won't bite; most of the anti-social instincts were taken out."

"So you're a cat." Jack took the reassurance for an invitation and smoothed his hand down Alec's arm. "You are so warm." Smirking slightly, he asked, "If I pet you just right, will you purr?"

"It's been known to happen," Alec said, matching Jack's smirk with his own.

"I'll remember that." Jack was still stroking Alec's arm. "Is this why you got that tickler in sex-ed yesterday? Cause it kind of looked like a cat toy."

Re: Main campfire

[identity profile] x5-alec.livejournal.com 2006-06-03 02:43 am (UTC)(link)
Alec snickered, either not minding the stroking or tolerating it quite well. "I'm pretty sure that was a coincidence. Or maybe not - this is Fandom."

Re: Main campfire

[identity profile] anextimeagent.livejournal.com 2006-06-03 03:11 am (UTC)(link)
Jack let his fingers trail across Alec's hand and away, abandoning the attempt to make him purr. "Did you find someone to use it on, or are you looking for volunteers?"

Re: Main campfire

[identity profile] x5-alec.livejournal.com 2006-06-03 03:25 am (UTC)(link)
The trailing off touch seemed to have a little more effect - a slight shiver ran up his spine and Alec licked his lips reflexively, before he refocused. "Have a study session with someone to figure them out," he said, grin a bit warmer than before. "Could get kind of messy, but in the name of homework, I'll bravely see it through."

Re: Main campfire

[identity profile] anextimeagent.livejournal.com 2006-06-03 04:20 am (UTC)(link)
Jack noticed the shiver and filed it away for future reference. "You're a good man, Alec. I admire your dedication to furthering your educational experience. If the study session doesn't pan out, though.."

Re: Main campfire

[identity profile] x5-alec.livejournal.com 2006-06-03 04:46 am (UTC)(link)
Alec nodded, just barely able to keep back the smile. "Dedication and attention to duty and responsibility, that's me," he agreed, then paused. He gave Jack a measuring look. "Do you have a lot of experience with toys?"

Re: Main campfire

[identity profile] anextimeagent.livejournal.com 2006-06-03 04:57 am (UTC)(link)
Jack met his look and said frankly, "A fair bit, yes. Want some pointers?"

Re: Main campfire

[identity profile] x5-alec.livejournal.com 2006-06-03 05:04 am (UTC)(link)
Alec was quiet a moment, weighing his pride against his curiosity - and a wish to not completely embarrass himself, if possible. He finally nodded, grinning. "Sure, if you're willing."

Re: Main campfire

[identity profile] anextimeagent.livejournal.com 2006-06-03 05:11 am (UTC)(link)
"Hey, someone - well, several someones actually - taught me. I'm happy to pass it on." Jack shrugged. "What sort of thing do you want to know?"

Re: Main campfire

[identity profile] x5-alec.livejournal.com 2006-06-03 05:19 am (UTC)(link)
Thinking about it, he shrugged slightly, vaguely hesitant in admitting it to Jack. "Never used them before. I don't really see the point of them, I guess."

Re: Main campfire

[identity profile] anextimeagent.livejournal.com 2006-06-03 05:29 am (UTC)(link)
"They don't really have a point," he smirked briefly, "depending on what you're using. They're just a way to have more fun, especially if there's more than two of you. Toys let you heighten the experience." He shrugged. "The human body's limited in what it can do; toys are a way of overcoming those limitations."

Re: Main campfire

[identity profile] x5-alec.livejournal.com 2006-06-03 05:46 am (UTC)(link)
Alec nodded thoughtfully. "I don't think I've reached any limitations, personally. I'm all for more fun though." He smirked. "Just that I don't think of a cat toy when there's a willing body to pay attention to."
