Luau, The Main Campfire, Friday evening

The main campfire had been turned into a tropical paradise... without the tropics. There were leis and grass skirts to wear, tropical music playing, a buffet table, and the infamous Limbo Stick of Destiny, an artifact brought back to America from World War II. Noody knows what happens when a person wins a limbo competition involving the Limbo Stick of Destiny, but several experts on the subject suggest that "absolutely nothing happens except maybe you win a little trophy."

It was party time at the Fandom High Summer Camp.

[OOC: OCD is up. Yes, there is pig, poi, and sometimes the band will switch from generic tropical music to 60's beach movie music, or maybe reggae, or Raffi. They're unpredictable like that.

The luau takes place during a long break in the rain that

The trailing off touch seemed to have a little more effect - a slight shiver ran up his spine and Alec licked his lips reflexively, before he refocused. "Have a study session with someone to figure them out," he said, grin a bit warmer than before. "Could get kind of messy, but in the name of homework, I'll bravely see it through."

Jack noticed the shiver and filed it away for future reference. "You're a good man, Alec. I admire your dedication to furthering your educational experience. If the study session doesn't pan out, though.."

Alec nodded, just barely able to keep back the smile. "Dedication and attention to duty and responsibility, that's me," he agreed, then paused. He gave Jack a measuring look. "Do you have a lot of experience with toys?"

Jack met his look and said frankly, "A fair bit, yes. Want some pointers?"

Alec was quiet a moment, weighing his pride against his curiosity - and a wish to not completely embarrass himself, if possible. He finally nodded, grinning. "Sure, if you're willing."

"Hey, someone - well, several someones actually - taught me. I'm happy to pass it on." Jack shrugged. "What sort of thing do you want to know?"

Thinking about it, he shrugged slightly, vaguely hesitant in admitting it to Jack. "Never used them before. I don't really see the point of them, I guess."

"They don't really have a point," he smirked briefly, "depending on what you're using. They're just a way to have more fun, especially if there's more than two of you. Toys let you heighten the experience." He shrugged. "The human body's limited in what it can do; toys are a way of overcoming those limitations."

Alec nodded thoughtfully. "I don't think I've reached any limitations, personally. I'm all for more fun though." He smirked. "Just that I don't think of a cat toy when there's a willing body to pay attention to."

Jack arched an eyebrow at him, considering just how blunt he wanted to be. "And is there any part of your admittedly exceptional body that looks like that tickler? Or vibrates? And you can only be in so many places at once." He shrugged again. "I guess it depends on what your goal is. If you're just aiming for the big finish, toys aren't really necessary. But they can be a hell of a lot of fun if you're not woried about how fast you get there."

Considering, Alec nodded again. "Never really thought about it. Never had any complaints, either, but learning new things couldn't hurt. Like the dating thing turned out a lot better than I'd expected," he mused aloud.

"You'd be amazed at how much fun it can be. And isn't that what school is for? Bettering yourself?" Jack grinned at him, then blinked in surprise. "You're dating someone? As in exclusive, forsaking-all-others dating someone? You're one up on me then."

Alec snorted, looking somewhat derisive for a moment. "No, just dating, no strings. Neither of us was looking for exclusive."

Jack chuckled at his reaction. "Yeah, that's kind of how I feel. I don't really get the whole couple thing." Grudgingly, he added, "Though it does seem to work for some people, I guess."

He shook his head. "I don't either. I like Jaye, but not in that way," Alec said, a distant sort of shadow passing behind his eyes momentarily. "I kind of value my independence."

"Yeah so do I." Jack studied him. "But it's not so bad having people you can count on."

Alec smirked very faintly. "Still getting used to that part."

Jack snorted in amusement. "Tell me about it."
