Luau, The Main Campfire, Friday evening

The main campfire had been turned into a tropical paradise... without the tropics. There were leis and grass skirts to wear, tropical music playing, a buffet table, and the infamous Limbo Stick of Destiny, an artifact brought back to America from World War II. Noody knows what happens when a person wins a limbo competition involving the Limbo Stick of Destiny, but several experts on the subject suggest that "absolutely nothing happens except maybe you win a little trophy."

It was party time at the Fandom High Summer Camp.

[OOC: OCD is up. Yes, there is pig, poi, and sometimes the band will switch from generic tropical music to 60's beach movie music, or maybe reggae, or Raffi. They're unpredictable like that.

The luau takes place during a long break in the rain that [livejournal.com profile] fh_weather is reporting. Yes, I'm modding the weather. Admin privilege.]

"Awesome. I wonder if we have any guardian crab around Fandom?"

"Guardian lobster perhaps?" Pippi suggested.

"Two times the snappy protection!" Blair laughed, snapping two little lobster claws.

Pippi laughed and changed her dance to include a "lobster claws" hand gesture.

"This move says, 'I am the Guardian Lobster of Fandom! I LIKE TO PINCH!'"

"But in a way that totally signifys that I will use peaceful tactics before resorting violence because I am the Hippie Guardian Lobster of Fandom!" Blair bounced along.

"Here come the evil Pear Poachers... This gesture means, 'Get a haircut!'"

"Ha! I pinch in the face of the evil pearl poachers and their alliterative name! This gesture is pretty self explanatory!"

Pippi blinks and may even blushing as Blair's gesture reminds her of something that she learned from Anna the Surly Lobster but not in class.

Blair is sadly unaware that he made Pippi blush as he's bouncing in a circle, snapping fake lobster claws in the air.

If he was aware, he would first feel embarrased and bad before feeling terribly impressed with himself.

Pippi thinks Blair is saying what he is saying intentionally because he was in Creature Languages and thus, speaks lobster... So she's trying to puzzle out the story he's trying to tell...

Right now, she thinks it about the forbidden love between a lobster and a... salad bar?

Pippi would be mistaken since Blair missed the lesson on lobster and would have no reason to know that he is indeed telling a tale of lobster/salad bar love.

Or that the gesture there is the beginning of a dirty limerick about crutons.

Pippi has forgotten that Blair missed such a lesson as she did not keep tabs on his attendence.

She slowly stops dancing and watches the story unfold with interest.

Blair is unaware that Pippi doesn't care enough about him to keep track of all his comings and goings.

He continues his wild dance, weaving the trials of a lobster seperated from his love by a sneeze guard. The longing. The lusting. The lowfat ranch dressing.

Pippi is not her Blair's keeper.

Though she does think Professor Dream would be proud of Blair for picking up the language so well as to be able to tell such a complex story. Oh... Those poor baby corn ears... If only they knew what the cucumber slices were plotting.

But would Professor Dream approve of the perverseness of the story? Blair's hands weaved a tale of nc-17 betrayal as the lobster abandons his love and satisfys his yearnings with a bowl of melted butter.

Pippi stifles something that could either be a laugh or a sob... possibly both.

Since she can only imagine the broken Heart (of Romane) the salad bar will feel when it discovers the betrayal.

And she also pictures Dream folding his arm and watching with a raised eyebrow, possibly saying something to the effect of, "Mr. Sandberg, that is hardly an appropriate entertainment for mixed company." With a dower face that belies just how funny he finds it all.

Blair stopped mid-gesture, the climatic fight between the lobster and hot rolls never to be finished.

"Pippi? You stopped dancing."

"Oh yeah huh?"

Pippi started dancing again.

[identity profile] lovechildblair.livejournal.com 2006-06-02 07:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Blair shrugged and started dancing too, but minus the lobster pinching.

Which was probably for the best.
