Summer Shenanigans, Wednesday mid-morning

Anakin was still not a cat! And he had stolen requisitioned the slip 'n slides from Paintball yesterday and set them up in roughly a triangle shape.

With bases between them. Because Anakin also still didn't know how baseball worked.

The bad news? The slip 'n slides were covered in baby oil and mudslide cocktail mix (because his order for mud had been misinterpreted. Watch out for the squirrels who'd definitely been licking the slip 'n slides.)

The good news? Your teams are in costumes made to protect you as you slide!

Well. Sort of. Anakin had gotten into the Japanese mascots again.

"Today we shall be playing slip 'n slide kickball!" Anakin told the unfortunates caught in the park this morning. "Listen for your names!"

The less said of the other costume, the better.

"Makes me want watermelon, though..." Don't take a bite out of the costume, Raiden. Don't do it. Foam isn't delicious.

Really, did anything else need to br said? The only thing Luma wasn't sure about was whether to send her withering glare toward Anakin or her sister.

Luma would definitely be better off directing that glare at Anakin, as Eleanor was safely ensconced in an adorable watermelon mascot costume and probably wouldn't even notice! Especially not as she was distracted, trying to figure out how to best take a selfie that showed off the costume to send to Kamala.

Yes, only one pair of the mascot outfits have hands! Yes, there are not enough people to actually field a team! Yes, you are about to get covered in sticky chocolatey liquid and baby oil!

No, we have no official diagnosis about what Anakin's problem is.

[OOC: There is no way to make the chaos of what this game would look like OCD-able. Ping your characters in as either fielding or kicking and other characters can ping back as either supportive teammates or trash-talking opposition. Fall over! Troubleshoot how a mascot outfit without arms can either throw the kickball or catch them! Fall over some more! The entire intention of this is interaction and silliness. Team Watermelon wins, but that does not actually matter. Have fun!]

Steve had fallen over three times on the damn slip 'n slides as he made his way vaguely short-stoppish, halfway between the second and third bases.

Steve hated everything.

Stark had hands on his suit. They did not help much. He was just going to try and lob the ball in the general direction of whoever might be trying to kick.

While thinking dark thoughts about Anakin. Very dark ones.

Rey did not have arms. He hadn't specified not using powers though, so at least she could push the ball in a direction if it came near her.

It did not prevent falling over.

Well. It didn't have armholes to start with. Quinn carried a knife. Her Uesama now had arms coming out of its cheeks.

It helped not at all with the creep factor.

Eleanor wouldn't have been very good at this normally. In a mascot suit? Practically a disaster.

But she did try in earnest and that might have saved her a little.

Not from winding up on her back at one point after overemphasizing a kick, but thankfully, thr costume nicely cushioned the fall!

Luma was intending to refuse to put that terrible head on and run around like an armless fool for a game, even going so far as to set up on the sidelines, leaning against the head to watch.

But here was the thing, about balls...

...she hated it, but once that ball got into motion, thr compulsion to go chasing after it was too strong to hold back.

"Dammit," she sighed, took a moment to fix her hair, and then reluctantly put the costume on to heed that natural impulse that couldn't be quieted.
