Summer Shenanigans [Wednesday mid-morning]

When the poor schmucks Fandom arrived in the park on Wednesday, they would see four wooden rafts, big enough to each hold four people (or Muppets), bobbing on the pond. In the center of each raft was a metal bucket full of objects. Some were balloon-shaped, some were ball-shaped, others were clearly shoes. One looked suspiciously like Intern Porg.

(Do not throw Intern Porg.)

"We're doing a balloon-ish toss!" Anakin announced. "Pick an object, toss it to your teammate on the next raft over. Do not miss or break the object! Fastest team to get all the way around the circuit wins."

He grinned. "Powers may be used today, and there are plenty of objects in the buckets. No one says you have to only toss things at your own teammates."

Sometimes Anakin just liked to watch the world burn.

"Listen for your names!"

Between last week's task and today's heat, Vi had worn her bathers under her clothes, and seeing the rafts stripped down to them before tossing the shirt over top of them.

So there was a lot more skin than she usually had on display in public.

Well, what Danny didn't know wouldn't hurt him, right? And Steve's stitches were much better and this didn't seem all that physically demanding! Steve buttoned the weird octopus shirt on over his t-shirt and looked around for his teammates.

Oh, no. Eleanor genuinely loved this shirt and it was suddenly the only thing she ever wanted to wear, and, oh god, what did that say about her?

She knew Luma couldn't read minds, but Eleanor looked like she was just about to finally reach the final straw that led her sister to disowner her entirely and never want to speak to her again, just for thinking these thoughts.

On the contrary, Eleanor! If Luma knew what you were thinking, she would happily also had you her shirt, especially since, thematically, this one made way more sense for, you know, the sister that took after their dark deep sea eldritch being maternal side, right? So Luma's lip was curling back with disgust and absolutely already making plans on sneaking this into Eleanor's wardrobe as soon as this was over.

Probably to no one's surprise, Stewart's contention with his shirt had little to do with the theme and just the general disappointment in any situation that involved incorporating more color into his wardrobe.

These saxy crocs were, however, giving him a good idea for his next open mic set, though, and for that, he was feeling pretty cool with them.

Henry still didn't understand the shirts. But they were free shirts.

Did that mean his wardrobe was currently mostly Shenanigans shirts? Yes.

Quinn had only been walking past today, and somehow managed to do so at just the right (wrong) time.

She could've just kept walking. She should have just kept walking. She'd absolutely planned to just keep walking.

"Goddammit."

The shirt looked terrible on her.

Stark had misjudged his timing. Stark was very annoyed with himself about this but he'd escaped this for several weeks in a row now so he would probably survive.

You used it as an icebreaker one time, Don supplied helpfully. I don't think he was there for that, though.

And Now We Play!

Each team member goes oh-so-handwavily to their rafts. The first raft picks a moddable object from the bucket to throw at their team member! The RNG determines how successful that throw is!

Other people on other rafts can throw whatever they want to try to disrupt the catches, or can be normal and just concentrate on their own team. Powers are allowed! Please make it messy!

The first raft holds Gray, Thor, Henry & Stewart. The second raft holds Steve R., Beaker, Stark, and Mariner. The third raft holds Eleanor, Flint, Steve M., and Quinn. The fourth raft holds Vi, Belle, Luma, and Steph.

No was allowed to accuse Stewart of messing around, even though that might seem like exactly what he was doing once he was on the raft. By messing around, he meant showing off a few moves and reaching into the bucket to pull out a football (or, to you Americans, he supposed you would call it a soccer ball), which he now incorporated into his moves with a little juggling, and then? Giving the water balloon a toss over to the other raft, but not just a normal regular toss, but instead, one that went under his legs before it went sailing over to his team mate on the next raft.

But, hey, credit where credit was due, it was actually a good toss, even if everything before it was ridiculous.
