Summer Shenanigans [Wednesday mid-morning]

Good morning, everyone! The sun was shining, the weather was getting pleasantly warm and Anakin had set himself up in the park with a bullhorn and a bunch of giant plastic storage containers full of liquids. Ice water, orange soda, chocolate pudding, the leftover slime...

Surely this will end well for everybody!

"Today you will participate in the ten toes challenge!" Anakin announced. "Working in teams, you will lay on your backs and balance these containers on your socked feet. Then, going in a circle, you must each take off one sock, then the other, without tipping the liquid onto yourselves. It's about teamwork!"

And gravity. And Anakin's personal amusement.

"Come down when I call your name and get your team socks!" He grinned. "Oh, and no powers, please. That takes away the fun."

The fun for the audience.

Vi may have been plotting on how to acquire some of the other teams' socks. But not more of her teams. They were horrific.

Luma was absolutely giving those storage containers a withering look, but the look she was giving her sister across the way was slightly on the edge of murderous. She needed to stop agreeing to do these with her...

Sighing slightly, she looked down at her socks, and felt something of a faint smile attempting to pull through, because she honestly did think they were pretty cute, although if she even thought of claws, they were going to be absolutely ruined.

Obviously, the moment he got his socks, Stewart was actually putting one on his arm, and then gripping it with his other hand and shouting as if an actual shark was currently eating his arm as it flailed around slightly.

Honestly, Luma's openness about being a werewolf around here helped to make Eleanor actually a little amused by what she ended up with, even if there was always that lingering thread of feeling like she was being called out whenever she wound up being matched up with something particularly water or ocean related for these things. She knew it was probably all just coincidence, but there was always that little paranoid part of her...

Either way, she really thought these were cute and couldn't wait to show them off to Kamala and she was hoping Luma also got something good for her sock as sort of a way to ease the irritation of having to do these with her.

She would probably still try to find something at the Infinite Consortium to destroy them with.

Rey had the adorable sharks! She was keeping these.

She kept most of them but these were cute.

Belle was trying to understand what set of circumstances had led to the creation of such socks. Belle was failing.

"Why am I wearing a picture of someone else's feet on my feet?"

That was the main confusion. The strange activities were strange but the socks were just beyond the pale.

Also toe socks? Really? He had giant bird feet what was he meant to do with toe socks? How dare you, Anakin.

Lay on the ground with your feet facing up. Once you're settled, Anakin will place the containers of liquid on top. Then you have to take off one sock at a time, going around the circle, and not spilling the liquid.

Spoiler: You will all spill the liquid. Some of you just spill it later than others!

Luma doubted the logistics of this would be even relevant, but she did have to wonder, as she followed what those around her was doing and laid down, but with deep reservations about all of it:

"How exactly are powers defined? They aren't really powers if they're just what you are, are they?"

She was thinking of just gripping the damn thing with her claws when she wasn't having to take off a sock. It was just a physical thing she had! It was like saying someone couldn't use their arms or something!

"He really is a madman, isn't he," said Henry. And yet here was, laying down, being reminded of that time he accidentally dropped some tongs onto his foot. Those toes? They were itching right now.

Of course it was Sam's fault. If there were only balancing involved it would be fine. He had large feet that would offer an advantage. If only he weren't trying to pull toe socks of those large, felt, eagle feet. Oops?

Sam's squawk was almost as undignified as the socks themselves. Almost.

He was sorry, teammates. Sorry he was now wet, mostly.

"I was at a disadvantage." Nah, Sam. Everyone was doomed to fail. Your failure was just a little goofier than some others.
