[OOC: How did you spend your Memorial Day? By scrapbooking and getting lei'd in Tick's class. I'm here all day for once, yay! Hence the slacking and not getting this posted sooner.]

When everyone had assembled in the dining hall, The Tick smiled and greeted them. "Hello, campers! I don't know if you've had a chance to see the schedule for Friday events yet, but in honor of the Luau that will be happening this week, we'll be making leis!"

"On each of your tables, you should find instructions, forty-five inch strings of dental floss, a large sewing needle, and up here at the front is a large selection of medium-size flowers to use. When you're done making your lei, please display it in on the front table here. I'll go ahead and have the dining staff store them in a refrigerator and if you want your lei for Friday, let you can ~~handwavily~~ retrieve them then."

"You got a good start with your scrapbooks last week. This week, I want you to start detailing it with text. Whether you want to write about your experiences over the past week, or just use random words to express your feelings. Think about how you want to use them. Up at the front table we have colored pens, markers, old magazines, scissors, and gluesticks. Get creative!"

"In a couple weeks, the Friday event will be an Art Fair. I want everyone here to have something in it, so please think about what you can do that you would want to display for the school to see."

Jaye's seen this girl in class before, but she finally has to say something. "Do I know you?" she asks.

"No, I don't think we've officially met. I'm Kaylee," she says with a grin.

"Jaye," she says, still looking at her like she ~~meta-ly~~ might know her from somewhere. "Huh. Never been to Niagara Falls?"

"Nope," Kaylee says. "Never even heard of it. Fandom's the only place I been to on this planet."

"Oh, okay, definitely don't know you then. Came here straight from outer space, huh?" Jaye asks. This is totally not weird to her anymore.

Kaylee nods. "Guess you're not new then, huh? You asked that like it's somethin' normal."

"Yeah, it's kinda old hat," she admits. "Between the green people and the blue people and the aliens and all? Space is totally normal."

"Even though I'm from space, I never met an alien until I came here."

"I don't think we have a ton anymore," she says. "Mostly humans from space. Which just inspires conspiracy theories."

"I wonder if there are any theories about humans from the future," Kaylee muses.

"Ooh!" says Jaye. "Maybe? Humans from the future were sent back in time to overthrow the government so they don't take away our coffee."

Kaylee laughs. "Oh yeah, that's exactly why I was sent back. And also so they don't take away strawberries."

"...You don't have strawberries?" Jaye asks, jaw dropped.

"We do, they're just kinda hard to get bein' in the middle of space and all," Kaylee explained.

"Well, okay, as long as they're available," she says, feeling a little better.
