Arts & Crafts Workshop #2, Dining Hall, 05.29.06, Afternoon
[OOC: How did you spend your Memorial Day? By scrapbooking and getting lei'd in Tick's class. I'm here all day for once, yay! Hence the slacking and not getting this posted sooner.]
When everyone had assembled in the dining hall, The Tick smiled and greeted them. "Hello, campers! I don't know if you've had a chance to see the schedule for Friday events yet, but in honor of the Luau that will be happening this week, we'll be making leis!"
"On each of your tables, you should find instructions, forty-five inch strings of dental floss, a large sewing needle, and up here at the front is a large selection of medium-size flowers to use. When you're done making your lei, please display it in on the front table here. I'll go ahead and have the dining staff store them in a refrigerator and if you want your lei for Friday, let you canhandwavily retrieve them then."
"You got a good start with your scrapbooks last week. This week, I want you to start detailing it with text. Whether you want to write about your experiences over the past week, or just use random words to express your feelings. Think about how you want to use them. Up at the front table we have colored pens, markers, old magazines, scissors, and gluesticks. Get creative!"
"In a couple weeks, the Friday event will be an Art Fair. I want everyone here to have something in it, so please think about what you can do that you would want to display for the school to see."

Scrapbooking [WS2]
Re: Scrapbooking [WS2]
She wishes she had a paintbrush, but the markers work well enough for Japanese characters. If she's getting any of those words out, it's going to at least be in a language that hardly anyone around her can read.
Re: Scrapbooking [WS2]
Her scrapbook is not nearly as pink as her lei is. Be thankful.
Sakura's eyes drift absently to the kanji on the dark-haired girls page, and she smiles, going about her own scrapbooking. Which so far, is mostly silly doodles and a few printed images from a digicam she'd forgotten she had with her, most of which include an oversized plush bear
named Squishy.Re: Scrapbooking [WS2]

Re: Scrapbooking [WS2]
She had a couple of pictures that she'd
*handwavily*taken, which she pasted in on the appropriate pages. She grabbed some pretty pens, and set to work on writing accurate descriptions of said pictures. She also glued some words that she'd cut out from magazines at cool, artsy angles.
All in all, these first few pages looked great. She had a ways to go, but at least it was a start.
Re: Scrapbooking [WS2]
Then she let out a meery laugh and employed the colored pens in the task of recording words, with gusto.
Had anyone looked closely, he or she would have seen words like blibbering, twinkling, fluwilba, and raspenellia written down artistically in beautiful colors.

Re: Scrapbooking [WS2]
She ripped them out of the magazines using a ruler and set them aside to futz with when she got back to her cabin.

Maia's Scrapbook Summer 2006
On the inside pages she had added little curlycues, dots and general happy looking little flourishes that would fit whatever she decided to fill it with.
