Though she hadn't been planning on opening the library this week, when Rory got a voicemail about Tyler working in the library, she made an exception.

She unlocked the doors and mentally started going through what they'd told her when they had trained her six months ago.

[Assume Rory's training Tyler when no one else is in the library, but it's otherwise open if you have literary needs.]

"Wilmington, Delaware," Tyler supplied, looking slightly bemused. "Another tiny state."

"I was just up in Delaware a couple months ago," Rory said. "Whereabouts is Wilmington?"

"Up north, on the shore," Tyler said. "Did you go to Rehoboth or somrthing?"

"Blue Cove. If you've met Parker, we were visiting her old house," Rory clarified.

"I have met Parker," Tyler said, raising an eyebrow. "Blue Cove. Kind of ritzy."

"How'd it go?"

"It was okay. Of course, we were there for like, a day before Parker's boyfriend flew us to Maine," Rory said, shrugging.

"Not much more to it than what you'd see in a day," Tyler said. "She's dating a pilot?"

"...in a manner of speaking," Rory said. "He's knowledgable about planes."

Tyler looked a little skeptical at this, but just nodded. "He got you to Maine and back in one piece," he said. "So he clearly knows something."

"Lots of people around here are handy in weird ways," Rory said with a shrug. "I speak Latin, Jarod flies planes sometimes, Anakin makes cars hover...."

Tyler assumed the girl had misspoken.

He's kind of a dick sometimes.

"Hovercars," he said. "The toys, they're called hovercars."

"No," she corrected, "my friend made my car - a Toyota Prius - hover. He's very mechanically-minded."

"Must be," Tyler said, clearly impressed. His mind went back to the workshop sign-up sheets, and he recognized the name Anakin. "He's teaching a flight workshop, right? Maybe I should try that next session."

"Yeah, he is," Rory said, nodding. "What workshops are you taking?"

"Karate, dada and sex ed," Tyler said. "Seemed like an interesting assortment."

"What about you?"

"You're taking Sex Ed?" Rory asked, rolling her eyes. "I have Writing, Flying, Scoobying and Astronomy."

"It's an essential subject!," Tyler protested, a trace of a smirk on his face. "What's Scoobying, anyhow?"

"It's...sidekicking, basically," Rory said. "And have you been warned about Becky?"

Tyler gave her a look. "Teachers come with warnings here? Is she a zombie or something?"

"She'll look kind of familiar," Rory said. "And she's violent and a hooker."

"And she's teaching here," Tyler said. He didn't really have much against violence. Or hookers.

But still. "This school is very strange."

"No, really?"

"You noticed too?" Tyler asked, drumming his fingers restlessly on the counter. "Anyhow. Thanks for showing me around. I'll be back Monday."

"It's subtle," Rory said wisely. "See you around, Tyler. Thanks for being a good sport about this."
