Fandom Library, Wednesday, November 13th
Today, Arden had come prepared. She brought a whole bowlful of candy--and put it in a classroom on a completely different floor.
And then when she walked into the Library, she simply announced, "Huh. I wonder what all that candy was doing in that classroom on the--" She barely had enough time to say what floor the classroom had been on before there was practically a stampede of gremlins heading for the door. She managed to leap out of the way in time to not get bit, clawed, or knocked down and trampled and that was really all she could have wanted.
With the gremlins out of the way, she was able to spend a relaxing afternoon putting together a display on various Indigeneous peoples who had lived in America pre-Columbus.

Re: Talk to the Aide
Gray knew from Raiden that in Thanksgiving context 'dressing' meant 'stuffing, but in a pan, not a bird,' not the stuff that went on salad, because if somebody wanted a salad at Thanksgiving Daman or Alastair was going to have to make it himself. And also obviously Arden would not be eating anything that had been inside a bird.
Re: Talk to the Aide
"More that I'm particular about it, not that it has to have particular things in it," Arden said. "There's, like, Kraft out of a box, which is good fifty-one Thursdays out of the year, and then Thanksgiving mac'n cheese. Creamy. Cheesy. Delicious. You'd be surprised at how many ways there are to fail at making Mac'n cheese."

"Yeah," Arden said. "And lots of places make them wrong."
This was what happened when your earliest ideas of food made "right" vs "wrong" were heavily influenced by Southern Baptist potlucks.
"Does Raiden make pecan pie? Maybe I could bring a pecan pie."
Re: Talk to the Aide
"He does make pecan pie, but I'm sure he wouldn't object to you bringing one. I mean, more is more, right?"
Re: Talk to the Aide
Re: Talk to the Aide
Should he tell her that actually maybe she shouldn't bring pie?

Actually, it would, Gray. It was also an inanimate object.

...Was she gonna get to decorate a tree?

Alastair wasn't here. And Raiden didn't even go to his dorm room to get his feelings hurt about Gray's personal desire to just skip Thanksgiving entirely like they were in Europe or something.
"I-I mean, if Graham wouldn't mind. I guess I need to ask him..."
Re: Talk to the Aide
And this was why you'd adopted her, Gray. All these great ideas.
