Fandom Library, Wednesday, November 13th

Today, Arden had come prepared. She brought a whole bowlful of candy--and put it in a classroom on a completely different floor.

And then when she walked into the Library, she simply announced, "Huh. I wonder what all that candy was doing in that classroom on the--" She barely had enough time to say what floor the classroom had been on before there was practically a stampede of gremlins heading for the door. She managed to leap out of the way in time to not get bit, clawed, or knocked down and trampled and that was really all she could have wanted.

With the gremlins out of the way, she was able to spend a relaxing afternoon putting together a display on various Indigeneous peoples who had lived in America pre-Columbus.

Just as Sloth. *drum riff*

"He does make pecan pie, but I'm sure he wouldn't object to you bringing one. I mean, more is more, right?"

"No one's gonna see it that way," Gray told her. "They're gonna see it like, 'Yay, more pie!'...which will mean that dessert will take longer," he realized.

Should he tell her that actually maybe she shouldn't bring pie?

"Well," Gray said slowly, "Christmas isn't allowed to start until Thanksgiving is over. That's a rule. Alastair...had to make that a rule. Um. Because of me."

"It's not fair," Gray whined. Dramatically. "Why does dessert have to take so long, and who cares about the dishes? The dishes will wait! The Christmas tree will not!"

Actually, it would, Gray. It was also an inanimate object.

"Of course we decorate the tree that night! Because Christmas can start once Thanksgiving is over," Gray explained again. "Which means once everyone is done with dessert and seconds and more dessert and second desserts and--" He flopped over onto the table. "Ugh, it takes forever. But the dishes can wait." Screw the dishes. Wasn't that what the dishwasher was for?

Gray stared at Arden for several seconds before he said, "I could decorate my room." This thought had genuinely never occurred to him before, because, like. It was a rule. But Alastair wasn't here!

Alastair wasn't here. And Raiden didn't even go to his dorm room to get his feelings hurt about Gray's personal desire to just skip Thanksgiving entirely like they were in Europe or something.

"I-I mean, if Graham wouldn't mind. I guess I need to ask him..."
