Chloe greeted each of the students as they ~~followed the handwavied instructions and~~ came into the Journalism classroom. Anyone who had been in here during the last semester might notice that all traces of Rita had been removed; the room had definitely become Chloe's domain.

"Good morning," she said brightly, distributing a syllabus to everyone. "Welcome to the writing workshop. For anyone I haven't met extensively yet, I'm Chloe Sullivan. Please, please call me Chloe, because any of that 'Ms. Sullivan' stuff is just going to remind me that I'm old and I have to leave this place at the end of the summer."

She gave everyone a smile and turned around to address them fully. "So, the basic idea of this workshop is to give you all a chance to experiment with different writing styles that are out there. We're going to start with non-fictional styles, and then move into some of the more entertaining fictional forms. I will warn you, I'm probably going to be doing some heavy pimping of the school newspaper, because it's kind of my baby, and it needs good people to take care of it next year. Those of you who were ~~my minions~~ part of the staff should know what I can get like." Chloe smirked.

"I figured the best way to start would be to talk about writing biographies," Chloe said, outlining a few of the characteristics of this style on the board. "This is also my sneaky way of making you all talk to each other on the first day. I've assigned each of you into a pair, and what I want you to do is get together with your partner, talk a little bit about yourselves, and then give me a minimum of 50 words on what you learned."

"Nah, you'll be fine. I crashed in there once and nothing happened," he conventiently didn't mention his entire freak out but that hadn't been the simulator's fault.

"I can't imagine any circumstances where I would need to know how to fly a plane, or a spaceship, for that matter," Marie said with a smile. "But it still sounds like fun."

"You never know," Cameron said seriously. "You might decide this is your calling and become a pilot."

Marie laughed. "I suppose anything is possible," she said.

"Especially in Fandom," he grinned. "Or did you have other big future plans?"

"I'm only fifteen," Marie pointed out. "No big plans for the future yet."

[*sighs* at icon*]

"You've got time," he reassured her. "I'm one of those weird people who's always just known. You'll find your calling."

Marie grinned. "At least you know that you're weird," she teased.

"I like weird," he smiled. "You can't tell me you're not weird in some way."

"I'm perfectly normal," Marie insisted. "Especially compared to most of the people around here."

Cameron shook his head. "Nah, I don't buy that. Everyone's a little bit crazy or strange. Even if it's because you like ice cream with your chips."

Marie shook her head. "Nope. I definitely do not like ice cream with my chips."

"You like... singing the national anthem while driving your bycicle backwards," he guessed.

"Nope," Marie said, giggling.

"You're not working with me here," Cameron sighed dramatically. "You like playing the bongos while standing on your head?"

"Well, I *can* stand on my head," Marie said. "But I've never played the bongos."

"We're on the right track anyway," he thought it over. "What about the harmonica?"

"I'm not very musical at all," Marie said.

"Recite poetry? You like writing."

"I've never recited poetry standing on my head," Marie said. "I'm sorry, Cameron. But really, I'm very boring."

"Nah, give it a week and you'll turn into something fuzzy and people will call you Marie-who-used-to-be-a-seal for the rest of the year," he assured her.

Marie's eyebrows knitted together in confusion. "Are seals fuzzy?" she asked.

"Baby seals look pretty fuzzy, no?" Cameron shrugged. "What kind of animal would you like to be?"

"I guess," Marie said. "And I honestly can't say. I haven't really thought about. Are random animal transformations common around here?"

"I wouldn't say common, but there's been a few. Zero gets turned into a cat, Barbossa was a parrot, Logan a bunny, Beka a hamster..." he paused. "And I got turned into a wolfcub. I think that's it."
