Fandom Library, Wednesday, September 11th

The library was up to nothing??? weird today??? Arden kept expecting something, but apparently it just...wasn't? No gremlins, no creepy whispers, no books doing anything other than...sitting there, unmoving, the way books were supposed to.

She didn't trust this even a little bit, but it didn't matter how often she tried to surprise check up anything, it just stayed...normal.

This was weird and she didn't like it. She had her eye on you, library.

"Mostly in the back rooms?" Gray tried to appease her, which probably would have been more effective without the word 'mostly' or the upward inflection of a question at the end there.

"It's also just, like, a regular night club. It's both. At the same time. It's just...it's our one place, y'know, so it has to serve multiple purposes. But it basically is the same as if somebody asks you to dance. If they ask you if you want to do something you don't want to do, you say no, and if they don't accept that then you punch them in the nuts." Pause. "Uh. Probably you shouldn't punch someone in the nuts for asking you to dance." Unless they were a total dick.

"Uh," Gray said, trying to remember if he'd known Arden was this calculating, and coming down on the side of not really caring. She was still his friend, after all. "Sure. But I don't think anything happens at Krave that Konnar doesn't know about one way or another. I just...didn't want you to be surprised." Now that he had finally remembered it might be an issue. Humans were so puritanical.

She had forgotten about the 'mostly' and Gray was just going to let her stay in that zone for now. "Vampires totally feed on the floor," Gray told her. "But anyone they bite they've got consent from. Konnar super doesn't play about that. Drugs...yeah, there's some of that, but also, when you've got so many different races in one place you've got to be really careful just in general. What's gonna give one person a mild buzz might knock the person next to them on their ass, or even be poison. So you need to be clear with the bartenders that you're human. Anything that's okay for humans should be fine." He thought for a second and realized he actually didn't know if that was true. "And if there's anything else you shouldn't drink just tell them you're allergic."

"The cups are plastic so no one can break them, and there's no food," Gray assured her. "...and it's not like Caritas where Summer might put chicken in the drinks one of these weeks.

He'd spoken it into existence, hadn't he? Chicken and malort, coming to a bar near you.

"I think you should be fine. And if you're not having fun we can go home and watch movies instead."

Sometimes he just said things! They just came out of his mouth! Like questions about someone being a eunuch, or pickup lines that involved squirrels.

"That's the spirit!" Gray cheered her on. "And you'll get to be around a bunch of nonhumans!" Even if she was still pretending to be human. Baby steps, he figured.
