"Hello, everyone!" Anakin boomed through the megaphone as people arrived. "It's the middle of August in Maryland, which is just the best time of year if you love being sticky, hot, and mosquito bitten!"

You should really work for the tourism board, Anakin.

"So today we will engage in activities that will take your mind off of such things!" He gestured grandly around the park. "Extreme pinball!"

Oh dear.

There was a pinball games set up inside of the slide, so you will have to insert your body up the down spout of the tube to play. There was one game set on a raft in the center of the lake. There was a pinball machine powered by riding a bike, another one on the ground that you had to play using your feet, and a final one you had to don Drunk Goggles to play.

"Volunteers, listen for your names and retrieve your shirts!"

Now that Graham had finished his official Knight of Daventry business over at the forge, he and Triumph were strolling on down to the park for the thing he was really excited about and definitely the main reason he jumped on this assignment with gusto:

Zounds, though, it was a real good thing Whisper hadn't been made a knight yet, or else he'd have had to potentially fight the guy over the opportunity! In fact, he went and took a moment to quadruple check Triumph's saddlebags, just to make sure he hadn't found a way to sneak onto Fandom with him or something...yeesh.

So, Arden had had a fairly terrible morning, but here was an immediate mood booster. "Graham!" she said, diving for a hug.

Charlie seemed to have a sixth sense for knowing when Graham was around - or maybe it was all the mine charms sketched on him. In any case, she was here and more than thrilled to get to see him. "GRAHAM!!"

Lydia was deeply relieved to not have her name called today, as she could not begin to imagine how those machines were even supposed to work. Perhaps she didn't have to avoid the park on Wednesdays after all?

Gray woke up from a nap on a park bench, looked around, and said, "Oh, no," as he realized what was going on around him.

Eleanor wasn't sure if Kamala being a sloth right now would lead to her getting immunity from being called, but they were about to find out, because she'd brought her recently be-animaled...girlfriend(?) with her to the park all the same.

If anything, though, she was definitely going to see if she could get a spare shirt for her, because she wouldn't want to miss out on that just because of Fandom being Fandom.

"Hey, Eleanor," the avatar of Sloth said to the lady holding a baby sloth. As you do. "And, uh, Kamala, right?" Who was currently adorable, but Gray wasn't about to comment on someone else's SO like that.

"Lucky Kams," Arden said, holding out her arms to see if she could get a sloth hug. "That's one way to avoid Shenanigans, and, honestly, I'm seeing the merit."

She glanced up at Eleanor and grinned. "Hey Ellie," she said. "Sorry about your date."

Stewart was squinting in the sun and wishing his hat had a wider brim on it, because apparently, dealing with daylight was a little too much for him today. He almost thought of skipping this thing, but he did weirdly like it and wanted another shirt, and he was trying to remind himself that it was good to actually get out of his apartment and do things other than video games and arguing with Roald about Olympic level breakdancing again...

In fact, almost as if it could tell he was brooding over it, his phone buzzed with an incoming text from Roald:

--rmnd me y we arent training for Canada's breakdancing team right now???

Stewart just sighed and texted back:

drug testing

--oh yeaaaaaaah.

Another sigh.

And then he snorted a faint laugh at his own clever wordplay there.

Did Graham understand the shirt? Not really! But he missed these wild designs, and couldn't wait to bring it back and show the other guards.

"Do you think there's any extras for Triumph?"

He also kind of liked that everyone had the same shirt. He knew it was a competition, sure, but it made them all still feel like part of the same team!

Here I'm sitting here like, "Who the hell else knows about Pinball Olympics???" because my brain is a sieve and I forgot I told you about this, lol.

I have a friend trying to get me to sign up to do this IRL in October and like, I am tempted.
