Welcome Party for the Summer Students and Staff

Despite the slightly overcast sky, the weather is still good for welcoming all of the new arrivals for the Fandom High summer session. The graduation decorations (and gremlin debris) have been cleared from the front lawn, and replaced with tables of information packets, food, and drinks. A series of signs point the students to the information table first, where they can pick up their room assignments from the office drones, and then continue on to the food tables to mingle.

And no, there are no inflatable gremlins around today. It's far too early to start scaring the new folks. That's what the mingling section is for!

Eventually, Luna found her way over to the end of the table. She tilted her head and looked the Headmistress over. "Would you classify wands as weapons?"

"What is the wand normally used for?" Fraser asks.

"That depends on the person behind it." Luna answered simply.

Fraser nods carefully. "If the wand is intended to harm, yes, it will need to be locked up. If your normal use doesn't constitute possible injury to other students, then I see no problem with you keeping it on your person."

"I'll keep it behind my ear for safety." She assured him. "I normally use it for homework. Does your hat make any noise?"

"No, it doesn't," Fraser says, smiling a little. "It's a non noise making hat. And I see no trouble with you keeping your wand if you use it for homework."

"Mine roar." Luna smiled as she looked from the silent hat man to the lady who reminded her of Angelina Johnson and back again. "Are you the Deputy Headmaster here?"

Fraser almost asks about roaring hats but saves that for another time.

"I'm the head of Fandom High security. Principal Washburn," he says, indicating the person next to him, "is the principal and the head of the school."

"Are the woods or any of the floors off limit to students due to uncontrollable animals, independent yet vocal creatures, murderous staff members, corrupt government workers, or infestation of any kind?" Luna asks. In her mind, it's the logical next step in this conversation.

That question actually leaves Fraser speechless. Finally finding his voice, he says, "As far as I know, the woods are fine to visit, all floors are open to students and the only animals I know of that have been seen in the school are gremlins, rabbits, and frogs."

"Important are the details of any new dwelling." Luna hefted her trunk on it's back rollers and turned to head off. "Thank you..." the last word might have been sir or silence but she'd already moved far enough into the crowd for it to be lost.
