Welcome Party for the Summer Students and Staff

Despite the slightly overcast sky, the weather is still good for welcoming all of the new arrivals for the Fandom High summer session. The graduation decorations (and gremlin debris) have been cleared from the front lawn, and replaced with tables of information packets, food, and drinks. A series of signs point the students to the information table first, where they can pick up their room assignments from the office drones, and then continue on to the food tables to mingle.

And no, there are no inflatable gremlins around today. It's far too early to start scaring the new folks. That's what the mingling section is for!

Shiro pulled his cap further down on his head, smooshing his cat ears agianst his scalp. Now all he was really able to hear was the sound of blood slogging around. Fainly he heard the woman saying something about weapons.

Weapons?

Shiro ducked his head down and attempted to slink by unnoticed.

"Hold it!" Zoe moved to step in front the young man. "Do you have any weapons?" she asked.

Shiro looked up at the woman slowly. He let go of his cap a little so he could actually hear what she was asking.

Weapons again. What was her fixation on weapons?

He snorted, "no."

"Really?" Zoe put her hands on her hips. "No guns, knives, swords, laser guns?" She hadn't even covered half of the bases, but she figured that was a good start.

"What the hell is a laser gun?" he stared at her.

She was starting to make him a little edgy. There was something about her that made the fur on his tail want to stand. And speaking of his tail, it was twitching in his pant leg and he was sure she, and anyone else looking, would see it.

"Look," he said tearsly, "I don't have any of that crap, ok? Can I go eat now?"
