Welcome Party for the Summer Students and Staff

Despite the slightly overcast sky, the weather is still good for welcoming all of the new arrivals for the Fandom High summer session. The graduation decorations (and gremlin debris) have been cleared from the front lawn, and replaced with tables of information packets, food, and drinks. A series of signs point the students to the information table first, where they can pick up their room assignments from the office drones, and then continue on to the food tables to mingle.

And no, there are no inflatable gremlins around today. It's far too early to start scaring the new folks. ~~That's what the mingling section is for!~~

Joxer laughs.

"My whole body is a weapon," he says. "Unless you're planning on ripping off my limbs, I'm going to have to live in that locker."

Of course, inside his head, Joxer is flailing like a flailing thing that flails.

"I believe that would be rather uncomfortable," Fraser says but grins slightly. "If you promise to be careful, I'm sure we could allow you into the dorms. Just be careful with that weapon of yours."

"Yeah, I'll be very careful," Joxer says, staring somewhat at Fraser's hat. "But, erm, everything else?" He indicates his crossbow. And his sword. And his dagger.

"If this is all your weaponry, then you are free to go. It will be safely stowed and available to you use off school grounds when needed."

"Can I keep the scabbard?" Joxer asks. "It's kind of... It's special."

"If there's a possibility it could injure yourself or another student, the rule is we must stow it in the weapons locker," Fraser says. "I understand a special weapon but these rules are in place for a reason."

"It's a scabbard," Joxer says. "It's like a sleeve for my sword? It's not exactly a weapon itself."

"Very well," Fraser says. "I believe that's more storage than weapon. You can keep it."

Joxer clings to his scabbard as if it held all the hopes and dreams of his life.

"Thank you, sir. And may I say, that's a wonderful hat."

"Thank you kindly," Fraser says with a nod. "Enjoy your time at Fandom High."
