Welcome Party for the Summer Students and Staff

Despite the slightly overcast sky, the weather is still good for welcoming all of the new arrivals for the Fandom High summer session. The graduation decorations (and gremlin debris) have been cleared from the front lawn, and replaced with tables of information packets, food, and drinks. A series of signs point the students to the information table first, where they can pick up their room assignments from the office drones, and then continue on to the food tables to mingle.

And no, there are no inflatable gremlins around today. It's far too early to start scaring the new folks. That's what the mingling section is for!

Pip raised an eyebrow. "I'll let that slide because you're new. I'm French. Where do you think I got this silly accent?"

"Quebec," Greg said, as though this was the most logical response. "But I'm wrong, so whatever. Where in France?"

While waiting for Pip to answer him, Phoebe held out her hand. "HI, Greg, I'm Phoebe."

"Hi," he replied, shaking her hand. "So where are you from? Presumably not France."

"Oh, so closer out near me." He tilted his head. "Did I hear something about a sister? More of you are here?"

Phoebe nodded. "My older sister Piper graduated last night and my younger sister Paige also goes here, too." She smiled. "I have a lot of family here."

"Ah." Greg nodded. "I've got one sister back home, who goes to UCLA. She's the one who'll be busting me out if I don't like it here." He glanced around. "And I'm currently thinking that'll be unneccessary."

Phoebe laughed. "Fandom is interesting place, Greg," she said. "You never know what you'll see or find here."

Phoebe looked at Pip and thought about this. "Well, we were both surprised by some things... and I know I wouldn't have believed much of it had I been told beforehand... what do you think?"

"Nice try," Greg said languidly. "Scare the new kid, giggle at the poor guy wandering around in fear of creatures that live in the woods or whatever. Not that gullible, buddy. Sorry to disappoint."

Phoebe stared giggling. "Well, do us a favor, then, Greg? If someone asks you to join the Gremlin Bite Support group? Don't."

Phoebe looked at Pip and then grinned and shook her head.

"I don't think anyone has seen him yet, " she said. "However, the dean will let us know if anyone does." She looked at Greg. "How do you feel about demons?"

"Don't let him kid you. He sent box tops back to the company for it with shipping and handling." Said Pippi walking up and poking Pip in the side.
