Did the world need a gremlin running around the park with a lit torch? Probably not, but he'd showed up with a lit torch and Anakin had chosen the path of not arguing about it. "Welcome to Fandom Olympics!" he announced instead through his--as always--completely unnecessary bullhorn. "The events you are participating in were chosen at random last night by five porgs spinning a wheel on which all Olympic events were listed. I am calling it the most modern pentathalon!"

If the pause was for applause, he'd be waiting a bit.

"Listen for your names! No powers!"

Lydia was about to throw a wrench into Team Blue's medal hopes with an apologetic, "I'm afraid I don't know how to swim."

"You can sit on my shoulders," Steve offered helpfully, removing his terrible windbreaker to point helpfully to his shirtless shoulders.

"I swim well," Jon said, "but I've no idea how artistic it'll be."

She shouldn't. She knew she shouldn't. But she was only human, whilst Steve's shoulders were...Steve's shoulders.

"Yes, all right," she said a little faintly, then shook herself and added, "I mean, for safety."

"Exactly," Steve said, nodding sincerely.

It was here that Dean balked. "Water ballet?"

He was now looking at Skywalker just to make sure he wasn't Loki/Gabriel in disguise.

"Meep meep meep meep meep mee!" Beaker agreed. They needed more Muppet chickens to make it truly artistic!

"Where am I going to find a bunch of chickens?" Dean asked.

Look. There were some things you picked up from Beaker in context. Muppet context.

"Meep meep mee?" Beaker suggested, shrugging. Maybe Gonzo had left some behind?

"Nah, he cleaned out his room," Dean said with a shake of his head. "Think we have time to hit that Furnado place?"

"Meep meep meep?" It was a long run from the park, Dean, but maybe in time for the finale?

"Good point," Dean said. "Wait. Are you on good terms with the flamingos?"

Look, this was group thing now and Stewart could not hog the entire pool for the team.

We were drawn from the weeds

Kamala was under the water and sprouted up like a weed, her arms waving in the air.

We were brave like soldiers

Her hand went to cover her heart while her other arm flung up into the air.

Falling down under the pale moonlight

She fell backward into the water holding the same pose as before.

You were holding me... Like someone broken

Spinning in the water she popped again elegantly embracing herself...

And I couldn't tell you, but I'm telling you now...

Kamala blew kisses out to everyone before tagging the next teammate to take over...

Eleanor didn't know much about dancing, no, but swimming was her element. At first she was a little nervous because only ever swam for herself, not for a team in a competition or even an audience, but once she got into the water, she pretty much forgot all about any of that. She may have even forgotten about the music, too, and if it weren't for the fact that she preferred the ocean, she might have forgotten why she was swimming in the first place, and had to remind herself to eventually come out of the water.

Arthur followed her in when John prompted him to, and swam.

Right, Arthur! No, your other right! Okay, now turn!

It was possible John had become far too invested in this sport recently. So they might not be terribly coordinated, but they were doing their best.

"Okay but this song is terrible," Arden noted. "You all know that, right? This song is legitimately terrible."

But at least a swim cap had been provided, protecting her curls, and Arden dove in and mostly just spent the time swimming around. But she did a lot of curling and twisting under the water, maybe that was pretty?

Now Navaan was giving Anakin disappointed, nay, betrayed looks. "How could you do this to me, bestie? You know I love this song."

But not enough to take off her tracksuit and explode.

"Why is that a problem?" Miguel asked. "This way you get to hear it a lot."

"Because I'm a vampire and it's daytime."

Duh, guy she just met. Duh.

Look, Miguel had fangs and light-sensitive eyes and he wasn't a vampire; he hated to make assumptions!

"Got it. I'd get my uniform for you, but I left it at home. I could wrap you up in spiderweb?"

"...How's that gonna help me swimming?" To her favorite song!

"It won't," Miguel said. "But it would keep the sun off you. Although," he added, "I could always web your legs together and build it up like a mermaid tail."

What?

"I'm very confused," Navaan said, and boy was it weird having the shoe on this foot. "You know I'm not exploding right now already, right?"
