It's Janet's last day opening the library, and she'd truthfully hoped to be a bit better-dressed for it. Sadly, she's down to her last jogging outfit--lavender shorts and a black t-shirt that was a little too short for her to be comfortable in it--and since she's out of clean socks, she's running around the school barefoot. Her sandals have gone missing since last summer, and she's not about to wear her running shoes without socks.

But! The last day of the term was library aide party day, no matter how silly she looks, and so she's hauled a couple of shopping bags filled with gourmet foods--Dr. Pierson was duly harassed for his credit card as forfeit for abandoning them to teach history, and also, Professor Wagner was just too nice for that kind of harassment--so she unlocked the door, flipped on the lights, and set out a bunch of ~~mod your own yummies~~ food and drinks behind the Collections Desk. Technically, it was just for the library aides, but they were all nice women. ~~Hush, you.~~ So roomies and friends and could probably be persuaded to share.

Random passers-by might even have luck too. As long as none of them had any overdue library books. Or were willing to accept a malleting and returned their book first.

Setting out the food isn't difficult. Plus it lets Janet sample everything before everyone else. And there's gourmet coffee.

She's laughing at the purple prose in one of those books Zero got her hooked on. Hopefully the next one in the series will be out soon.

Is Journalistic Integrity in session today? If so, Janet's there. She'll go and check. ~~Oh, hell, I still have stuff to do for that.~~

Janet's back, and as it's the last day of the term, she's not even pretending to get much work done. Though she is making sure all the paperwork she's gone over is in order for Professor Wagner.

Which is when the library is closed, unless you're the aides, the librarian, or a friend of any of the above.

Everything's in order, the food is thoroughly munched on, but come on, Dr. Pierson's credit card? Janet made sure there was plenty there. However, boredom is starting to set in.

Janet's leaving 'helpful' notes for whoever replaces her next semester. What, like 'when the lights in Special Collections go out, RUN' isn't helpful? Oh, wait, you mean 'don't worry about the window, it moves on its own' might not be?

Last period. Last day of the term. Why bother going to the TA meeting if you've already had the final? Though Janet's probably around for any last-minute stragglers returning library books.

Parker came in after Zero's Final and before she went off on her date with Jarod, shaking her head. "That ~~not yet posted~~ class was nuts. Oo, you got the good Brie!"

"Of course I got the good brie. Dr. Pierson was paying for it, after all." She grinned. "So how are you doing?"

"Relieved Finals are over, and bummed that Angel's leaving. Glad Callisto and Xander are staying for the summer, though. Did I hear right? The new kids are showing up on Tuesday? Gah. This place never lets up, does it?"

"Wait, new students already?" Janet looked up from spreading caviar on a cracker. "I can't believe Angel's leaving right away. That's just depressing. We have contact information for all the seniors, right? And Professor Dream's heading home too.

"Hey," Elizabeth smiled at her as she entered the library. "How's things?"

Janet smiled. "Good, though I can't head back to the dorms to get my ransomed clothing until after I'm done in the library." She looked down at her outfit. "After today, I was about to be in serious trouble."

"I heard a rumor about it, but I could be wrong. It might be the Tuesday after that?" Parker shook her head. "There's graduation to get through first, though. And Callisto, Xander, and Veronica are sticking around for the summer, at least." She took a bite of caviar, looking glum. "I know, I'm going to miss him. I hope I get to see him again. This is just depressing, I said good-bye to CJ last week too."

"You've heard more than I have," said Janet. "I know people move on. It's not like I haven't been through it before, but it's hard every time. Professor Dream did say his e-mail would still work, at least." Janet picked a bunch of grapes and some brie and crackers and set them on her plate.

"The clothes have been released?" Elizabeth asked, looking down at her own outfit. "Oh thank goodness for that."

Parker's trying not to think about it too hard; next year it will be her leaving, missing all these people, and that's when her time with Jarod will be up. "And at least Professor Lyman is coming back in the fall. He's running an election in Detroit this summer. And Professor Tick is still here, even if Lockheed isn't. And of course Himself will be here to torment." Parker grinned. "If he doesn't get stuck in Special Collections. Think we could make that happen?"

"It was in the announcements," said Janet, glancing at Liz's outfit. "I don't know, I like what you're wearing."

"I keep ending up being in the shower when announcements come," Elizabeth shrugged. "My legs are too pale," she said, looking down at them. "And I have to say, you wear what you've got on well."

"He is? Good, I wanted to take a class with Professor Lyman next semester." She grinned. "It's good that you think of evil things like this. I'm willing to bribe the library to get Himself stuck away for a long while."

"There's nothing wrong with being pale. It's healthier." Janet grinned and nibbled on a piece of chocolate. "It's a little bit less than what I'm used to."

"I like catching the sun though," Elizabeth replied, also grinning. "I could get used to you wearing that much. Quite easily."

Angela began to pile a plate with hummus and pita, cookies, cheeses, and a stray grape or two so she could pretend it was healthy. In her desperation for something to wear, she had cut the sleeves off of a faded babydoll-style flannel dress.

"This is an amazing spread," she told Janet.

"So wear sunscreen," said Janet. She stuck her tongue out at Liz. "I think you could get used to me in this sort of thing, but I doubt you'll get the chance to. Unless we started jogging together."
