Paintball, Monday, June 10, 2024
"Since the pits were such a hit last week," Steve began with perhaps an unclear recollection of last week, "we're keeping them and adding additional obstacles this week."
"Land mines," Tony said cheerfully. "Well, paint ones. Expect to get pretty messy if one goes off, though."
Was this cruel and unusual? No, because there weren't any bugs.
Or any niche Chicago booze flavored like bugs and regret. So it could be a lot worse, right, Anakin?
"So just like in a real battle, you have to look out for more than just enemy combatants," Steve said, nodding. "Be on your toes. Not literally."
"Maybe a little literally depending on the area," Tony chimed in.
"It'll be swell," Steve assured them. "Have fun. No power usage."

Re: Ready, aim, fire!
Not everybody had the Force, but some people made up for it with sheer ingenuity. Like grabbing a long branch and using it to carefully poke around at spots before stepping on them, while remaining mostly low to the ground to avoid getting easily spotted and sniped.

That was you, Cal. That was what you sounded like.
Arden slowly prowled along the ground, keeping a wary eye towards the skyline because she knew Cal did like to stay up high. She wasn't entirely sure how many people were left but she knew there weren't many - but she and Cal were among them.
And dinner and PRIDE were on the line.
Re: Ready, aim, fire!
In his defense, he hadn't lasted this long before, and he was having fun.
Re: Ready, aim, fire!
"That you, Kestis?" she called, since whoever that was clearly knew where she was.
Re: Ready, aim, fire!
He peeked out to see if she'd made the mistake of getting up more. Unlikely, but he could hope.

Re: Ready, aim, fire!
He was learning about wash days like a boss, and he didn't want to be cruel, after all.
Re: Ready, aim, fire!
A paintball came flying for his head, but went wide of the mark, leaving Arden cussing a blue streak.

Re: Ready, aim, fire!
Arden flung herself to the side in a roll, hearing the paint spatter right where she'd been a few seconds before. "Wish I could say the same for you, but that pretty solidly missed!" she called back.
Yeah, only because she'd moved but details. Have another shot for your troubles, Cal.

Honest.
Arden, unaware of where he'd moved to, leaned forward, eyeballing his high ground, her eyes sharp for movement.

"Good game!" she called back. "Let me know what you decide!"
